Build up sale?
in The Commons
When does the extra 15% kick in? I actually bad better prices in my cart this morning. Then the prices went up this afternoon even though I didn't change anything. I thought prices would remain stable or go down during the sale weekend.
Also, just going off the 15% promo, the new price calculation s don't match. It looks more like 13%.
Just wondering if I am doing it wrong.

I can't even pretend to understand the DAZ math on the discounts. I tried yesterday.
lol, yeah, this one had me scratching my head a bit. in all honesty, It wasn't much of an incentive.
Remember that the 15% off applies to the sale price, not the original price, so the actual additional discount you will see depends on how deep it was discounted before you added it to the cart. All discounts at DAZ are compounded (ie multiplied), not added.
The 15% (or whatever) build-up discount is applied separately from any PC discount, which is separate from any other discounts. So, with a new release in your cart and an item from a featured PA the PA item will be 60% off then that will be discounted by the Build-UP discount - if you have a 15% Build-Up the total discount in this case would be 66% (you'd get the same result by applying the Build-UP discount then the featured PA discount to that price). The Build-Up discounts are already in effect.
Oh I thought it was an added discount. I probably wouldn't have bought another $35 worth of new releases if I had realized it wasn't turning 60% into 75%.
I'm not getting the discount or the 40% off for multiple new purchases and everything in my cart went up $110 since I originally put it in and can't seem to get an official response how to fix it...
I want to buy the new vamp character but the disount doesn't seem enough right now. I'll hold off for a better deal.
Agreed, my only comfort is that I'm not the only one who wasted $$$ on this.
Well, I'm not really complaining about how the discount is calculated...just that it wasn't clear before I spent money on other items I didn't really want just to get it. My PC discount is already almost as much without the promotion. I can see how the build up discount would be good for non PC club folks...a decent amount without having to buy a membership.
That said I'm still unsure as to why prices went up from 6am to noon. I thought daz prices normally changed at around 1am when the new releases are posted.
No worries... I'll just have to be a bit more selective about what I buy during this sale.
I often find that waiting a minute, then refreshing the cart helps.
My money isn't exactly wasted. But, I would not have placed those particular items at the top of my buying list. I'd have bought the roadster over the new character..etc. and, definitely the new stonemason castle over the poses. It would have changed how I spent the money. And, I would not have misses out on a couple of really awesome deals while waiting to see what was in the bf sale.
If I'm understanding correctly;
If my PC discount price is $6 on a sale item. And, there is an added discount of 60%,
My price would be $2.40. The buildup discount would take 15% or $0.36 additional off, making my fial price $2.04.
What I thought was going to happen was that the added discount would increase the sale discount to 75% off my PC price for a total of $1.50 final price.
Now take that times 100 and the difference becomes significant. It's still not a bad deal if I spend at least $100 at discounted prices. It breaks even at that point. And, I have the three items I wouldn't have otherwise purchased. It just doesn't do much good before I hit that break even point... unless the build up qualifying items were all things I was going to buy anyway.
No biggie...just took me awhile to understand...just wish I'd pulled the trigger on the better discounts earlier in the day. I had the Egypt bundle down to $8 at one point...Doh! It's back at $30 now. The roadster was at $7 by virtue of some combo. I thought I could just keep adding items over the weekend and get similar prices...but they shot up instead. Oh well...
Ah....there it is again...1 price jump by $5 since 6am...$4.95 then, and now at 8:58am, it has changed to $9.90... Mysterious.
