Finally got bitten by the cart price switcheroo

Just got charged 34.29 for something that was 17.06 in the cart when I checked out. I put in a ticket, but Daz...please, PLEASE fix this. All you need is ONE irate customer to get you into hot water legally - not me because I know this wasn't intentional, BUT...this can't happen. Ya need to fix it. This is the ONLY site (and I buy a lot of stuff online because I'm handicapped) that this has EVER happened to me.

Ticket will reach Daz, a post in the forum will normally only reach the forum members.
I understand this, but maybe this will cause members to be vigilant and keep on an eye out for what actually gets charged them when they check out :(. It might be different than what they were expecting. This might put some people over their limits and get them charged extra fees.

Thank you. I've spend quite a bit at DAZ and will watch my checkouts more carefully than I have in the past. DAZ really needs to fix this problem.
The real problem is if you're simply clicking by rote, you might never realize that you were over charged in the first place. I'm pretty sure the odds are pretty high that in the early days before I happened to notice it, I'd probably clicked on the purchase button without realizing that I wasn't getting the discount, especially in cases where the discount was not hundreds of dollars, but smaller amounts.
I regularly see discount calculations change between checkout and the paypal payments page. usually it's just a matter of a penny or so when i'm trying to finesse a low gift card amount. but it does seem like the order summary info is being recalculated somewhere before it's passed along to the payment processor.
Probably (!) nothing to do with Paypal; I use a bank debit card, and I've always seen this wandering of 1% or 1-2 cents in the process of collecting a cartful of stuff and checking out. The problem is that the store software appears to be incapable of counting accurately and consistently — I have no idea why no-one seems to have heard of this problem with other stores using Magento, but IIRC it never happened before the disastrous switchover a few years back.
Well, mine was different by approx 50%, so I can't say what the problem was. Just that they should fix it and very, very soon.
