Unwanted Crosshairs

These red and green crosshairs, below, belong to the Horns Group.  There must be a way to hide them, but I haven't been able to find it.  Can you help?  Thanks.

The crosshairs remain no matter what tool is selected.

So I did file new and brought the group in as a subset.  Still there.  I unparented the objects and moved the empty group around.  Crosshairs moved with the empty group.  I created two more empty groups.  They had crosshairs too.

Is is possible that all groups have these crosshairs, and they cannot be turned off, and I have somehow never noticed them before?

Ah, I see this came up last May too.  I guess they cannot be hidden.

Well, the crosshairs don't render, so they are an inconvinience, but not a dealbreaker to most, I guess.

Those are the indicators for the group or null.  That's how you can select the null in the viewport, instead of having to select it in the Scene tab.
