Light passing through objects with iray

Hello

I'm wondering if anyone can help me.

I have a scene in which i put a pannel with a cityscape outside the window to simulate that view but it's stoping the sunlight from getting through the window.

Are there any setting that would allow the light to pass through that pannel?

Light will go through a window if you apply a glass shader to the object. There are several glass shaders in the Daz Iray shader folder.

One way...move the panel far away from the window....and scale it so it will still be seen.

  • There is obviousley an error with the Optix acceleration. Switch it off and test it if your scene renders as expected then.

I reread your post with MJc's reply in mind, and I see that you already have a window, and the panel with the city scale texture that's placed outside is the thing blocking the light. Sorry that I didn't your post correctly.

In addition to placing it further away, if you don't mind a little postwork, you can simply not have anything there, and render a transparency behind the window. Add in the city scape -- at the correct angle of course -- using a graphics program. Just put the scape behind your main scene.
