In other news - loving all the new brushes I've gotten - it's amazing how many options you get with them.

Made this by following the tut that comes with the particles brushes (background is from space brushes).
I had to mentally convert from PS to GIMP (and it was a first try, so obviously not as good as what Ron achieved, but I'm convinced it's just a question of practice).
Just a quick draft - could do with blending the edges of the figure better, but I like it :)
Figure is Teen Josie 7 with Bast dress and Nova hair.
Everyday it's in Fast Grab I buy 2-3 more....

Indeed. If it's still there for another week, I'd be buying more through the weekend. Ron's sets are excellent for postwork.
That looks really cool! I forgot about the glowing brushes in that set!
I'm not facile with Gimp (I do not rent Photoshop), but am picking up more of these. I've managed to get some satisfactory experiments with smoke and explosions, and hope to get better with postwork in the future.
maybe it is the time to experience these in the new affordable Affinity PHOTO, available in Beta for Windows (and soon enough in release). It is really promising especially for the ones that can't afford PS. Probable price around 40EUR (well, this is the launching price of afinity Designer)

Would you take a look at my product library page of Ron's products and make suggestions that you think would be valuable additions.
Maybe a few suggestions on how you use as well - I would like to take advantage of the price offers
Len, the Winter Bundle and the Water Bundle have got a lot of neat things in them. Looks like you've got the other bundles. A few that I fell in love with but have yet to use include: weeds, trees, birds, wisps and vines. The promo pics are packed with really cool ideas. This promo picture for the bird brushes inspired Raven, a major character in my superhero series and even inspired her book, Ravensong. So of course, I had to get those!
The Ink brushes are also very cool and don't forget Angel Dust! That may look a bit girlie from the promos but it's really versatile with all the stars and swirls in it. I just picked up Mud, Ripped and Ripped Fabrics the other day. Can't wait to play with those, as well as Impressions. That looks gorgeous!
Here's a rough draft where I used Angel Dust, Splashes and a lens flares from the Bokeh pack. I was just messing around, it's a test render in 3Delight for a friend. (I also used the stars from the Angel Dust brushes on my Unlucky Charm cover.)

I do video production. From what I have seen most of the brushes and such are static images. There is no progression or sequence of the images. I thought in some instances with the layers I might be able to create sequences. My thinking may be wrong, since I've not had time to spend working with the packs that include layers. The layers may just be for color and light variations in lieu of something like a grouping of layers, which basically would create a sequence to convey movement.
The Winter pack will probably work well, because most of the items I can parent/attach to props and such. I do have static content in many scenes.
Len, as I said in my other post you can get some movement with parallax work. But things like steam and smoke would only work in very quick shots since there would be no internal movement. You could draw it out a little if you applied them to a 3D shape and morphed it. Things like explosions you could do a scale trick with a lens flare, but again only very quick shots would work. Other things like Scratches or Grunge would work as texture on surfaces so those are well worth it. Something like the Sci-Fi Custom Shapes would be good also as textures - but note that the Bundle is made up of the other two products; get the Bundle.
Len, I'm hoping to get into the video side at some point, but my skills just aren't there yet (neither is my computer.) I think you might be able to create sequences by rotating and scaling the brushes. Might take some work, but worth a try.
I'm sort of confused, as there are multiple blood themed items, and a literal ton of water effect brushes. What does one offer over the other? Is a newer one an improved version or just more?
Which one has the brushes with glowing effects? I'd like to buy all of these, really, but that's not possible right now.
I use GIMP, too, if that makes a difference. I know it wont do the actions. Another question is can GIMP access the brushes from a different drive than GIMP is installed? I'm running short on space on my main drive thanks to Daz content (go figure.) I have external drives to hold additional Daz content now.
The different water brushes have different effects (e.g. Clearwater is good for pouring/dripping water - Splashes is exactly that, different splashes - if there's a 'splashes 2' then it'll be more of the same type (see product page images for examples and a look at some of the brushes) - Detail Smoke seems like a better option than regular Smoke (but I have both - the detail one has different options).
You can point GIMP to a different Brushes folder (can be anywhere - might take longer to load up if it's on a different drive, not sure)
What do you mean by 'glowing effects' ? - some of the light / energy brushes have glowing effects - in the above image I made with the fire, it's mostly from following the tutorial rather than the brushes themselves.
Alas, they're not in fast grab anymore, but the holiday sales are just around the corner! Some day I will have them all! Bwa ha ha ha!
(That would look better, but I'm at work, without the brushes, on Gimp. I can't find anything!)
