Looking for an old robot

Hello all,

Back in the old days, when Victoria was 3, daz was selling a very nice robot character,  with a 50s/60s look. It has a set of poses and a funny robodog.

I just need to findthe ref and name

Thank you

Or there was also a figure termed "Robot" that is now inactive

I think you want D Bot not to be confused with the Daz Originals/ Tate Super-D-Bot here. Whoever made it also created a robot dog in the same style called D Spot. Digiport made some poses for them but not sure who made them.

What is thar Robot called picking flowers that @FirstBastion posted. The bottom image after the robot dog, d-spot? I don't see it in the DAZ Store search.

  • Is D Bot still available anywhere? I like his looks - a bit like the Iron Giant!

I believe that they were DAZ Originals, but no longer available.

Well bummer...maybe I can alter that Super D-Bot to look like that D-Bot. That's my favorite. There is a render of D-Bot as Iron Giant, I think that's what D-Bot was based off of.

I found a copy in my archives, in a directory named "Freebies via PC renewal", dated 25 Oct 10.  As mentioned, the vendor was simply listed as 'Daz3d.'  Attached is an admittedly poor copy of the advertising...

By hiding a material zone or two and adding a prop here and there, The ol' D-Bot can be customised for some interesting designs.

Here I've given it a pill shaped head to make it look like something from the vintage "Magnus, Robot Fighter" comics.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

    I have D-claws and D-squeak

Daz needs to bring back D-spot and D-bot so I can get the whole family! (Of course someone would have to make Mrs. D-bot and D-bot Jr.)

I'd buy it all. Have D-claws and D Squek as well plus a few other robots and animal robots. I need to add to my collection.

I hope that the powers-that-be are reading this thread, because I'd love to buy D-Bot too. And if they don't want to revive the original but instead introduce a newer and improved version I am comfortable with that too. :) He's got such a great retro look about him.

And I would like to be able to get d-Spot

Hmmm, so that is 5 or 6 people just from this thread that like this D-Spot robot & would buy it. Of course I think they need something like 1000 customers to buy to break even I think. D-Sport would be a good supplement to all the Superhero & Sci-Fi products in the DAZ Store.

Absolutely brilliant job! I've always favored Super D-Bot in a Scout/bodyguard position, but I'll have to start using D-Bot again, now that you've inspired me.
