Daz 4.9 and Zbrush ZR7 GOZ Not working
Greetings to all!
I am on win 10 with Daz 4.9 and Zbrush ZR7 both 32 bit and 64 bit. It does not work with either.
I tried the disable plugin suggestion in this topic but no go http://direct.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/36641/missing-link-to-zbrush
Getting the " Unable to connect" message
Any help appreciated

Have you tried resetting the DS path in ZBrush, in the Preferences>Importer preferences menu?
Thanks RIchard,
in ZBrush, Preferences>Goz>update applications path is grayed out
That sounds as if you don't have any GoZ plug-ins installed. Check the path DIM is set to install to - click the gear icon at top-right, then go to the Applications tab.
Heres is what I have done so far,
Followed your suggestion went to DLM found that install goz was waiting to be downloaded, downloaded and restated DAZ
Went into Applications tab, indeed there was no path to Zbrush so I entered it and selected the Folder where Zbrush.exe is installed.
Went into Zbrush >preferences >goz updated all paths, it looked for DAZ and could not find it so I loctaed it and entered the path
Made no difference whatsoever still getting the " Unable to connect" message

The setup looks correct. Would you post a screenshot of the Unable to connect message please.
Thanks for sticking with it Richard. I posted one above.
And you are sure that's the version of DS for which you installed the plug-in? Sorry, I don't have any more useful ideas.
Well to be sure I uninstalled Daz and any registry files associated with, did a complete reinstall of Daz to the latest 4.9 and latest DLM
reset all the paths in Daz and Zbrush, tried to export and get the same message. I show a picture history below in order of events
I think you need to open a support ticket, unless anyone else has a suggestion.
I have a "snowflake" problem no one has experienced? Not the way I wanted to be unique..
One last thing, it used to be Daz and Zbrush only got along in 32 bit if I remember, could it have anything to do with that?
Also I see nothing in my daz plugins, is this correct?
Although ZBrush was 32-bit only until 4R7 the GoZ plug-in has always worked in both 32- and 64-bit applications. It, as far as I know, writes a copy of the data to the GoZ folder and then launches ZBrush rather than being a direct applicatio-to-application mind-meld (which would require matching address depth).
Thanks RIchard, I am submitting a ticket, before I go is there anyuthing to the pivture I posted above showing no zbrush or goz in the Daz plugins?
Sorry, I missed that image. GoZ should be therel, so it does look like an installation issue. Exactly which version of DS is this - Help>About Daz Studio - and which GoZ is showing as installed in DIM?
Sure, 4.2.9.70
Picture below shows which Goz is installed in DLM
I also tried the latest 4.9 public build 4.9.3.128 .
Strangely when I try to install Goz from the DLM for the public build it refuses to install.
Try uninstalling, then go to C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\Studio4\Plugins and deleting the dzgoz.dll file if it's still there, then reisntalling GoZ - though really, if it's there at all it should be appearing in the About Installed Plug-ins dialogue even if it has a red plug icon and says it is not loadable.
Well, good recommendation, by doing so I did get the plugin back see pic below, and upon trying to export using GOZ again same error message. This is crazy seems like there is no connection between any of these actions effecting the program/. You would think at least a different error mesage but its no nada. Thing is I had this working flawlessly at one time. What could it be?
You mightt ry clearing the temporary files GoZ creates - C:\Users\Public\Pixologic\GoZProjects\ certainly, petrhaps the text files from C:\Users\Public\Pixologic\GoZApps\DAZStudio64 (though I think you would then need to reset the paths) but I would move them elsewhere and retry rather than deleting outright.
Thank you RIchard, I ended up uninstalling and renistalling everything back to Zbrush 4.6 and then the latest 32 and 64 DAZ. There were getting to be so many variables that it was becoming untraceable, sometimes it is easier to start from scratch. So I am back and the Goz from Daz to Zbrush is worrking again.
I am glad I did get it up and running as i received this attached reply from Daz support which was interesting.
So according to support they "do not have anyone in house that uses the goz to import to zbrush"? Since as Zbrush says Daz wrote the source code for Goz that is truly astonishing...:) So either Daz support is foreign and did not understand the question or Daz support is really lacking. Either way a little embarrasing for Daz.
