Has anyone discovered great ways to pose characters yet?

  • Hmmm, I must be one of those weird ones.  While I do use some purchased poses as a start.  I seem to have accumulated a massive selection of them.  I really enjoy taking a picture for reference and a figure in t-pose and seeing how close I can get it.  I actually find it a little therapeutic and relaxing.  :)

I'm in the camp of thinking pose packs were worthless but now they're one of the biggest things I buy. So much time saved as starters.

Once I found out about the Pose Tool and locking various bones posing became much less of a headache for me though.

  • This makes me wonder if an Advanced Pose Control Pack would be worth it....

    Technically doable. Could be fun.
I'll start making it. I'm really curious where it would lead to be honest.

  • I wonder what ever happened to the Qumarion pose capture mannequin?

    or other motion capture schemes?

I found that selecting the base of a limb- near knuckle, major joint or first section of tentacle or trunk and then right clicking (select all children) then bend (for instance) allows me to curve whole parts easily. This is when there are no morphs or specific dials. Give it a go, see what it do.

I did this for the African Elephant trunk.
