Happy Veteran's Day Brothers and Sisters
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all the Canadian and American Men and Women who have fought and died for our freedom we enjoy today.
I have not served in our Canadian Army but I have had family members who have in WW1 & WW2
(We have Rememberance Day here)
My dad was a Veteran of the Vietnam war. He was a sailor on a supply ship. To everyone who has served, thank you very much. And, to the Vets, my undying gratitude.
I joined the Army with two of my best friends in 1988. We went to basic, advanced training and then to South Korea together. We were military broadcasters (like Robin Williams in "Good Morning, Vietnam") It was a BLAST (at least until the Persian Gulf War started!) I then met a hot guy in uniform, got married close to the DMZ and had my first son in Korea. The marriage didn't last, but that baby is now grown up. He's got four brothers, one of whom is a Marine. My father and uncle were Navy, my grandfather was in the reserves.
I'm very proud of my family's military heritage. We've had at least one ancestor (sometimes several) serving in every war all the way back to and including the American Revolution.
Hope everyone had a great Veteran's Day!
I served in the dinning room from 1145 till 2035. I hope I can get some tips on how to get out of this rubber chicken sheet outfit.
I thank all veterans (including some family) for their service, and hope that we demand fewer veterans in the future.
Yikes....See what this hobby has done to me? I meant Iraq. LOL
I meant mess hall at Kentucky Fried Chicken.
