Ola by Dusty

Apparently I picked up a freebie in May called Ola.  It doesn't seem to have a product page anymore, but I can't figure out how to make it work.  Anyone know anything about it?

ISTR the initial zip didn't work, it was updated around the end of May.  The zip includes a readme.

  • Ola for Genesis 2 Females was never intended to be released for free through DAZ.  It was going to be released at RDNA at the time of the buyout, but the artist decided to release at Renderosity instead.

The DAZ version's textures seem to look a bit different:

  • The textures are different, but it is the same outfit (I confirmed it with Orphaned Soul, and purchased the Rendo version).

  • I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but it still doesn't work.  According to the log, it's looking for the geometry files under Data, when they're actually under runtime\geometry.  I don't know anything about converting from .obj to the needed .dsf file.

    missing files...

  • I've since made a bit of progress with some of the parts, and am even using one on my current project.  But it's still a mess to work with.  I never got the skirt or the shin guards to work, but the rest is mostly functional.

I've never been able to get this to be anything other than grey blocks.  Which is a shame since its super cute.

  • I think I used the File Reference Editor to re-asign the broken parts.  The data is in there, it just doesn't find it very well.

Is this a viable replacement for Runtime Repair fro Rendo?

I haven't used the other one, but this one does work pretty well.  And looks more polished.

  • Again, this is not a free product!  It is available for purchase at Renderosity, but it was never intended to be released free here at DAZ.
