DAE export from Poser 11 not as expected...

Hi ,

 i think there are some Poser user still here:  I found some strange things happen when export a item as dae from Poser. In poser the whole item / scene is selected, during export dialog all relevant items are checked, no error messages.

When open the dae in another 3D app, Vue for example, it shows up that not all parts of the item are in the dae file.... 

Latest example for me was the Oberon station. Loaded the complete station preset, but after export the parts which were delivered as props are missed - but in Poser they are visible and in the export dialog they appear too and are checked...  

Any experiences with this?

    I wonder if both programs are using the same version of DAE for importing and exporting.  If Vue is not importing correctly, try another program.  If another program will accept it and show it correctly maybe you can use it as a middle man.  Not the best solution but if it works then use it.  However, I personally prefer and recommend FBX if both programs have it.

     

    Beyond that I dont know what to say as I dont have either P11 or Vue

    Thanks for comment...  it seems that the export fails. Various programs (Carrara, Cinema 4D) deliver the same load. Parts are missing which are for sure checked "on" in the export dialog.

    I have to add, that the export as obj deliver the full scene....  the export routine to dae goes wrong (as well as the 3ds routine, there comes pure trash out). Will open a ticket at smith micro I think
