Dragon Piccolo - can it be used with DAZ?

Piccolo is such a nice looking dragon, but it says Poser only. Can it be used with DAZ?

Dynamic wings won't work, but it will probably work using the conforming version of the wings. You'd need to adjust the materials though, and especially apply displacement yourself.

Thanks for finding her for me!

Got Piccolo at RDNA long ago and just did a quick test with iray. This is just default Ice textures without iray conversion (usually using luxrender, so no clue on that), surface set to skin, displacement maps loaded manually and dialed strength up a bit, added some iray dome/light and clicked render. Finished rendering in less than half a minute.

There are 2 versions of conforming wings beside the dynamic ones, a 1-sided and a 2-sided version (with different materials, the 2-sided needs to load top and bottom materials separately), but I did not play with those to see the differences.

Maybe that helps, personally I like that little guy.

Cute! You just sold him to me. DAZ should make you an affiliate :-)

    ;)

Additional note: I just checked my RDNA downloads and saw the head crest, tail tuft (both used in image) and some other props like jewelry (not used here) are from  'Piccolo Accessories' add-on (by Arki too), so keep an eye open when that is released as well. They are both installed to the same folder, so I didn't remember it was in the add-on package. As the add-on is already available in my product library I'd guess it should be released soon.

  • Yeah, I bought it too. Converted to Iray and used static wings and poses. Great price and nice model.

If you have a Runtimedna account her jewel eyes freebie is still up.

Very nice model Arki, and the jewel eyes render just fine in Iray.

With those jewel eyes, she's the fire lizard from Anne McCaffrey's Dragonrider's of Pern series.  Now that I see she has conforming wings, I will go ahead and get her.

  • Yep, thanks to this thread, I just picked her up, too.  :)

  • Thanks Arki, I just got the Piccolo Accessories>>>  http://www.daz3d.com/piccolo-accessories

Now the set is complete. Very nice little dragon.

Oh, thanks for that.  I hadn't seen it!  In the cart now! :)

Got them as well. Such a cute little Dragonling!

  • Yeah, really needed the headcrest. I was gonna add horns but the feathers and the jewel eyes work best. I also like the addition poses for V4 and Piccolo.
