kewl, there still time for this?!

is using a female hair a qualifier?  i been fussing with the lada hair on him

The rules state any female item that has been repurposed.  As long as it didn't, go through a 'her' first to get it to fit then you should be good.  No use of female clones or morphs allowed per the rules.

you mean the autofit clones? autofit a vicki4 hair to gianni disqualifies?   oh dear

KnittingMommy, After seeing MistyMist's comment, I looked over the rules for Re-purposed:

    • 9.  Re-Puposed Category - This category is to take an article of clothing NOT designed for the males and using it on or with the male figure in a new way.  This does not mean throwing the male into a dress and calling it done.  For inspiration, please check out last year's voting thread in the links and look for those images which are tagged Re-Purposed.
    • 10.  Female morphs are not allowed in this competition including, but not limited to, the use of such products as GenX which enable users to apply female morphs onto the male body.  We want to concentrate on the male figure.  However, scripts that allow artists to swap UVs allowing female skins to be used on the male figure WILL BE ALLOWED as no morphing is involved and UV swapping is a pretty common occurrence for most of us.

It doesn't specifically state auto-fit isn't allowed. Nor does it specify auto-fit is allowed. When you have a minute, can you clarify?

Can we use the auto-fit clones to fit female clothing to our males for the purpose of "Re-Purposed"? Or, as an example, is the fact the male's shirt is actually a female's shirt mean it's not really re-purposed because it's still a shirt? Are you looking for something more like a female skirt somehow applied to the males's head to look like a head-dress?

(I'm still working on my entries, and I'm not sure if I'll even try repurposing. But it would be good to know the judges expectations, either way.)

    Thank you.

How else are you suppose to get the clothing onto the male if you don't use autofit - rerig it yourself use dynamics is that what the other entries have done?

No, auto fit is allowed.  That is an internal DAZ thing that works with all characters.  What I mean by that is that you can't use a product like Cross Figure (I think that's the name) which basically turns your figure into a girl to fit the clothing and then allows you to switch your character back to a male.  All fits have to be more natural in trying to fit clothing.  I.E. you put the outfit on the male figure using Autofit  then you can use scripts like Fit Control or Wear Them All to help finish the fitting.  You can't go through a body that has had female morphs applied and then taken out to help with the fit.

    Does that make sense?

Sorry no it doesn't really make sense I don't think crossdresser works like that could be wrong though -

but as long as Autofit is allowed thats the main thing.

Cross Figure works by loading the donating figure first, i.e. Genesis 3 Female before an item can be fit to a male figure.  Note that this is a totally different plug-in than Cross Dresser by EvilInnocence which is more like Autofit, I believe.  I haven't actually used that yet as I just got it and haven't tried it out yet.

  • Happy Holidays, everyone!

Just a reminder that there is only one week left to submit your entry to the It's Raining Men Again contest over in the Art Studio.  There is still time to enter!  Contest ends December 31, one week from today!  Get those males rendered and submitted!

Yes. I have Cross-Figure and know how it works, so explanation made perfect sense to me. (Though you had edited it by the time I saw it.)

    Thank you.

  • Only five days left everyone!  Hurry and submit your entries soon! Deadline is December 31!

I'm working as fast as I can. lol

I've got one more scene going now. And if fortune smiles, I may just be able to squeak in a third entry. Life has been a bit demanding this year. It didn't help that the kitty drinking Santa's milk was for this year's cards, and it took a whole lot more time than I'd allocated! (But it did turn out nice.)

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with another entry on the way. I expect the entry thread will be inundated with new images on the 31st...

Now's the time to enter folks!  Only a little over 26 hours left to get your submissions in!  You have until DAZ (that's Utah time, Mountain Zone, UTC -7:00, I think that covers it all) midnight tomorrow night!  Don't let this contest end without you!

  • Just wanted to let everyone know that the winners have been decided and it has been announced over in the Art Studio thread.  Congrats everyone!

  • Alright, everyone! The winners have been announced so if you want to see who won head over to the Art Studio and check out the announcement.  There was really stiff competition.  You guys did NOT make the judging easy.

    Just wait until next year!

I can only speak for myself, but I know my entries this year were far and away better than last year's. I expect to to learn and grow this year, so next year's entries should be far and away better than this years. If the same holds true throughout the community, next year's judges are really going to have their hands full!

  • Oh, Gosh! I think I'll need to stock up on energy drinks before then and sleep now in preparation for next year!  cheeky
