Posing a snake - invert "bending direction"?
Hello!
I have a snake in DAZ Studio and now I want to pose it around a G3F figure. The snake should be warping around her body and bite in the neck of the figure.
The most efficient and natural way would be to place the head of the snake where it should be and then work down the pose to the tail, bending and twisting it around the G3F body. But this is not possible, because when you bend or twist a part of the snakes body, it is always the part going to the head that moves. So you have to start posing with the snakes tail and work up to the head, which makes it almost impossible to create a good looking pose. Mostly because you have to guess where the head will be. And when you guessed wrong, you have to start from scratch.
Is it possible to invert the "bending direction" in that way, so that the tail part moves, and not the head part, when you bend a part of the body?

Comments
I wish this were possible. So many times have I purchased a bendable item, only to find it bends only one direction- usually the opposite way I Want it to.
In theory pinning the head bone should work.
Thanks, I will try pinning the head and see how that works.
But please allow me a follow-up question on that topic.
When I have made it finally and the snake is in position, can I somehow "fix" it on her body? I mean, when I move my G3F figure now, or bend an arm or a leg, I dont want to have to repose the snake again. It should follow the movement, just like clothes do.
Can this be done?
The only way to do it would be to export the posed snake, ona zeroed figure, as OBJ, then load that and use the Transfer Utility to rig it. Getting decent results for more than minor pose adjustments would be tricky.
