Maybe it's best if you send your message to http://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us

Here in the forum, while we can all discuss to our heart's content, chances ar small that it reaches the people who need to know.

Hi Bee, thanks for suggestion/input.  You know I would contact help, about my concerns and I'm sure many have already, and in the past 3 years, I haven't witnessed much difference, I would enjoy purchasing more Daz store content, but always discouraged or disappointed.

The Dream Home rooms are $1.99 for PC+ members.

All new releases are 30% off for PC+ members (40% of during the PC+ sale).

And this PC+ sale this month there is a new PC+ item every day that counts as a new release to trigger the discounts (and they are usually only about $2).

PC+ members also get 5 free new releases every month, and two $6 coupons to spend every month. As well as thousands of items for $1.99 - $4.99 that everyone else pays full price for.

To me, this site really comes to it's full potential with a PC+ membership.  I think you can get a quarterly membership right now for less than $20. The PC+ membership pays for itself many times over.

I know that doesn't address all your concerns, but I think you'd find it would lessen some of the issues you have with the shop by quite a bit.

AJ I don't bother moaning about the store anymore I just don't buy stuff. I am pretty sure most of the DAZ3D staff don't even visit the forums let alone care about our gripes.

You're welcome. I hope that you find it helpful. :) Personally I love the PC+ membership!

Once you get the membership, be sure and pick up the Platinum Club Anniversary Mega Pack, the Sci-fi Rover Trailer, and the Confinement Corridor, as they are free right now for PC+ members.

Also, you might want to keep an eye on this thread for a while. We're helping each other navigate the PC+ sale. lol :D

I believe Noggin's Owl will go on sale every time his store is on sale, which is at least once a year during the PA sale.

His store did go on sale last month during the PA sale.

What specifically dissatisfies you about the store;   Is it the content,  the prices,  organization?  I gripe about a ton of stuff concerning Daz, mainly because I can see a lot of wasted potential that could benefit people wanting to get into CG art, but I'm sure other people especially those who've already mastered a particular level of artistry with the program might have completely different things that dissatisfy them.

It's not that I'm dissatisfied but it makes no sense to buy new characters when I know the iRay skin textures aren't going to look like they look in the ad copy and even if they did, there is an overabundance of nearly the same skin tone of California tan.

The other products that I want well they are mostly outdated but since they are architectural mostly, I buy them as I want too. I think a lot of them are very good, but like the characters and their Califorinia tans I don't buy dozens upon dozens of versions of crypts.

I admit, I haven't been buying too much here because most of the sale content I own already  or is yet another female-centric outfit, clothing, hair, or pose. I really can't use more gal stuff. So I pass.

I want to say I'm buying less from the store but that's not true.  I must admit I have so much content that I don't even know what I have anymore.  I must say, though, I have been passing on the individual characters because I don't find them particularly unique and with Genx and all and the material converters, I have been getting the most out of my V4 and G2 content. And even making up my own characters with a morph here and and a morph there. I have bought all the bundles characters except Sunny 7 and that teen guy because, well, I'm just greedy. Still waiting for Monique and Darius. And BTW, divamakeup, thanks for your post about Absolution, I would have missed it if I hadn't seen the render you posted.

Awesome! I'm glad you found it helpful. :) That's such a great environment that I couldn't help sharing my excitement about it! :D

Hi friend, thanks for your concerns.  I'm disatisfied with sales, always promoting to purchase product to obtain sale prices or discounts.  And another was charging tax.  True, we all have different views of any aspect in life.

It's supposed to charge sales taxes acording to where you live, and then send the money to that state's IR. If it doesn't work properly(charging Urah taxes while you live in CA), it is something you would need to report to CS, so that it can be fixed.

As for sales... well, why would they want to give you a high discount without getting anything in return (like the sale of a new product)? It's give and take. If you are satisfied with the lower discount, you get that in almost every sale where you get the PA shops at 40-50% off without additional purchase.

The thing that gets to me about the Daz store is that you can take very few of the prices at face value, and have to do a ton of calculations/adding and subtracting stuff from the cart to figure out what you're actually going to be charged. I'm far from being the best artist in the world, but I definitely have a creative brain rather than a mathematical one - I can easily add two figures together and come up with a number smaller than either of them. That said, I know it's not just me as there are entire forum threads consisting of posts from people much brighter than I am who have completed the daily mathematical obstacle course and kindly posted their findings.

The dodgy market trader patter is annoying too - 'I'll let you have the widget you want for a knockdown price, but only if you buy the widget that you have absolutely no interest in as well!'.

It's art we're into, not recreational shopping. Just show me the prices and let me out of here!

    Exactly yes

Or 'I'll let you have the widget you happen to want a lot for a discount if you buy this other thing. If you happen to also want the other thing, win-win! If you kind of want it but were on the fence, this might help. If you don't want the other thing, then is it really worth bothering?'

I mean, it's not like the trigger items are universally bad.

Like, with me? I have no interest in Genesis 3 products. So when there are sales with 'new items!' and all the new items are Genesis 3... well, this isn't the sale for me. On the flip side, if you really wanted more Genesis 3 stuff, this is a huge win for you.

I have an actual degree in mathematics, and the store's calculations still manage to surprise me with some regularity.

    Me too!

  • With the prices, the way they are headed, the only solution is to only buy sale items.

Well personally I don't mind DAZ's sales flyers but I still would like the monster stuff toned down. Other than that, if they would create the sales sections in tabbed sections rather than this quiet long list with anchors that would be nice.

  • Simple calculation:  If you want it or need it and have the funds to buy it, then buy it.  Otherwise, don't.

I think the best way to navigate the Daz store is to look at it as a crazy strategy game. So much stuff to look at and consider and imagine what you would create with it. Putting various things in the cart can lower the total and sometimes something expensive goes down ridiculously low, the thrill of sometimes getting things for under $1.00, discovering stacking sales, and other times it's beat the clock before the sale turn over time... I used to find it annoying, but now I find it strangely fun. Go figure....

I know it's likely an unpopular opinion but I enjoy the sales a lot - I think they are great. Particularly on the rare occasions when we discover awesome deep discounts via stacking sales. Oddly I can RARELY afford to buy anything there, but part of the fun for me is finding all the great stacking discounts and all the stuff that help others get better deals and posting about it on the "Flash Sale Alerts" thread or the "Daily Sales Talk" tread. Helping others find and get great deals is kind of my way of living vicariously through them. lol I don't often have money to spend here, but I enjoy helping others find awesome deals when I can. And when I DO have the money to spend, it's wonderful to be able to get a bigger "bang for my buck" with the great sales that Daz does! :D

    +1 (as they say)

It's not unpopular with me. I agree 100%. I usually just can't pick up and buy a certain item that I feel I need, unless its discounted.

On the other hand the opposite is true. I don't want to buy something if I have seen it on sale for a crazy low price but was too (late, lazy, drunk, stupid, on fire, etc...) to buy it at the time.

On the gripping hand that helps me filter out what I "want" vs what I "need". If I just can't do without it, I buy it no matter the price (its not like turbo-octopus prices here after all), otherwise I wait until I see what I feel is a good price.

It just maximises the money the company and artitsts make. Most people won't buy at the basic price, but some will so you need to have it available. Most people will buy at a discount. If you occassionally offer it at a deep discount, but attach other sale items to it, you open up your market to get buyers to buy things they might not otherwise would have looked at. Everyone wins.
