Disable drag parenting?

I've been getting annoying when I click on one thing in a scene that it will sometime accidentally get dragged and parented to another thing when I don'd want it to. Is there a way to turn of drag parenting in the scene tab?

    Drag parenting doesn't work consistently for me...it does for you?

    No it doesn't sometimes i just click on one object in the scene tab and I move my mouse ever so slightly (I don't even notice it) And the object just gets parented to another object. That's why I want to know if you can disable drag parenting in the scene tab.

    Sounds like you need to calibrate or replace your mouse, never have had that happen on my end, then again I use a trackball which allows for finer movement than a regular mouse'

    in poser, holding shift key keeps you locked on to your current selection

    been desiring similar in DS

    when i try to drag a handle, often i end up catching the floor or something
