Iray: Computer screen emisson is blowing out image

I'm having trouble getting a monitor in my scene to look good,...It's blowing out the image...none of the colors are working.. I'm sure I've gotten this working before...What settings have you used for monitors?

I usually use somewhere around 20,000 set to lm and using the diffuse image in the emmission channel as well.

    *edit*

I see in your screenshot you have the image in emmissions as well. I also use straight white as I found that gives the best color (Unless I'm going for a colored neon look, then I use the brightest colors in the pallet for the color I want)

:) glad I could be helpful

It's also been mentioned in another thread about adding the image to the actual value amount as well, but I've not experimented with that yet to see what it does.

I just gave that a try, but it didn't look any different.

    See here....

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/interface/panes/surfaces/shaders/iray_uber_shader/shader_general_concepts/start#emission

If that screen/surface you are applying the image to is only the emissive part, then there are a couple of things that you need to do...like turn off base color and glossy.  Using the actual Emissive preset in the Daz folder turns off all the parts that don't need to be on, already.

The other thing I would do...mask that image/fill in the non-screen area with pure black.

Also, an image map in the Luminance value slot (I'm assuming that's slot you you mean by value slot) should be a black and white/greyscale map...black being 'off', white being 'full' and grey somewhere in between.

    20,000 is way too much!

I recommend 1200 lumens for each screen.
