Thanks for sales that make you feel bad

I made the mistake of buying a couple of "debut" items and a handful of the 80% off at 6:30am, Eastern.

A couple of hours later, "flash sale" on gift cards. And, in the tradition of "flash sales", it's been on for over 14 hours. I've never seen a company that can match DAZ's talent for having sales that make you feel bad about yourself constantly. They set you up to feel like you've done the wrong thing, over and over.

I was looking forward to the last day of the sale "make up", but now I think I'll sit it out. Not like there's hundreds of dollars of stuff in my wishlist or anything.

  • Well, at least you were able to make your purchase. I'm about to go to bed with a cart full of stuff thanks to some moronic update error that is preventing them from being able to actually take my money.

  • Why would you feel like you did something wrong or bad about yourself?  At most, you missed out on a sale; it's not like you're pirating products.  I just purchased a number of products yesterday, that I know are going to be back on sale soon in the catch up, but I don't feel bad about it.  I'm kicking myself a little since I spent so much, but it's not that big of an issue.  Just take it as a lesson in being patient

DAZ midnight is 11:00 pm for me and I always check out the next day's products before going to bed. DAZ has taught me to wait until the next day to buy anything, though.

Like you, I didn't appreciate something extra being added after I'd made my purchase. So now I wait, which isn't always to DAZ's benefit. Sometimes the extra time between putting an item in my cart and going through the checkout process means I have time to talk myself out of something I want but don't really need. So it goes into my wishlist to be picked up later at an even better price, (or to be culled from the wishlist and never bought at all.)

  • try to ask for a ticket with sales staff at Daz

Yeah,  I've noticed that Daz has affected my sleep schedule.  I really look forward to seeing what tomorrows sales might be.  A true sign of addiction.

What I've found is that I have a certain target price where I start to get antsy, and try very hard to keep purchases below that number.

I miss sales all the time, because right now it is a pain to get money into my debit card.  I got an offer for extra discounts but unable to reload my debit card in time.   Is it daz's fault?  No because it really is not anyone's fault.  It is just the fact I do not have complete control over my transportation

It's not about missing sales. It's about them putting up sales and then immediately putting the same items in a better sale THE NEXT DAY. They've done this over and over again this year ( especially badly during last year's Cyber Monday, and then the % gift card raising each day fiasco this year.)

If an item goes back on sale in a couple of weeks that should be fine and expected. Getting a great deal on Monday and then seeing you could have gotten a better deal waiting 24 hours just makes the customer feel bad for no reason.

Is today's sale better than yesterdays? It looks like the same sale to me *but admittedly I didn't pay that close attention to it yesterday*.

It's the day 1 items with day 2 items added to it. So yes it's a better sale since there are more options and none lost. I would guess by the naming that there'll also be a Day 3 since there are still new items not in there. So if you want to combine certain new items into one purchase then you're better off waiting at least a day.*

    * But don't blame me if the sale suddenly ends even though that sort of decision would make about as much sense as many of their sales decisions.

Ah I see. Well what could have happened is that they had planned on splitting up the items into different days but then decided to keep them in for anyone that missed them yesterday ..nah. lol They probably planned it this way - knowing the Daz sales tactics that I've seen over the past few months. They've definiltey had a few sales lately that made me scratch my head and go "huh?".
