Oh well, I didn't need to spend $100, anyway...

It was late. I was going through the Catch-Up sale listings -- page by page. Selecting one item after another. After another. Toon Ghost? Why not? Ooooh, that M4 hair looks nice. And Victoria can always use some more pumps... Then, the silent hand of time struck! Silently and without warning, the $88 in my shopping cart -- a large but managemable number -- turned into a hideous, unspeakable MONSTER of $512!  Ghhaaaaa! Time had run out.

Oh well... if there's an end-of month catch-up, I'll try to get started on my shopping earlier. If not... well, there's always another sale.

I think it's a bit of a blessing nothing that was in my cart on Friday was on sale. I already had Game Maker pro plus the android output module, but there was a huge bundle sale this past weekend and I was able to pick up the universal windows output module, the iOS output module, the html5 output module, plus many extras (each output module is about $200)

a total of $1800 worth of steam and gamemaker software for.... $15!

Had stuff in my cart here been on sale, I would have missed that deal. Now I can export the games I make in Gamemaker to pretty much all platforms :)

I got close, but made my purchase before the clock ran out. With more time, I would have spent more.
(I didn't have time to look at everything on sale).
A 24-hour cart lock in has been suggested before, but never implemented. Don't know why.
DAZ is losing sales by short clocking us.

This sale is pretty "meh" for me, anyway. With the recent price increases, it's more like a 30-40% sale.
    I repeat, "Meh".

Hey, that's $100 you can spend next month during the PC+ sale! heheh :)

I've only spent $20 this month on Daz purchases. I'm hoping that means I get to spend more next month.

Oh, thank heavens I wasn't watching the Steam Sale! I don't make games, but now that I have Poser Pro 11, I can export/import using COLLADA... and some of those Steam Environments are very tempting!  And congrats on your great steals! That was amazing.

I think a 24-hour shopping cart lock would be a very good thing. Life (i.e. work obligations) get in the way of my rampant shopping sprees.  They did lose my purchases, including the one NEW item I was going to buy to get the discount. There was very little there that I needed, but I did see a bunch of stuff that I could see using in the near future. Oh well... there's always another sale. Whether it's here or somewhere else...

My budget stays about the same: $100 a month... unless something stunning is available that I just can't pass up, and that does not happen often, I just stick to my budget.

My boys have been playing around with gamemaker and were very disappointed to hear that they missed that one!  :)

Animate 2 was on sale the other day... I was $2 short... crying

Whenever I have money, there are either hardly any sales or new items that I want... frown

I'm going to hibernate for a bit. Hopefully someone will wake me up when Lilith 7 comes out cheeky

I'm only lucky I already had a registered account at yoyo games as they are the ones who sent me an email saying "Hurry up, only 48 hours left!"

Of course I had to see what was going away in 48 hours. I took a look through the bundle and said "yep, that's where my Daz money is going" lol

    *edit*

and the cool thing was 5% of all money made from the bundle sale went to charities

Ahhh I'm so jealous! I wish I had $100 to spend on Daz every month! I'd be in HEAVEN! heheh :D Sadly my budget is usually around $20 a month. But I know I'm blessed to be able to spend $20 or so a month, as I know a lot of people can't do that.

I would probably be better off if I only spent $20 a month! But it's one of the rewards I give myself for spending long hours working each week.

  • Ha ha The same thing has happened to me a few times!! Put some goodies in basket on break at work then get home and bam the price is back to normal.

  • The most annoying thing about most of the sales here is that you don't know when they are going to end. That's not the case with the sale I missed, but it does apply to many sales.

  • I end up shrugging my shoulders and say it was nice to windows shop. If it stimulated some ideas, even better.
