Is measure metrics a merchant resource?
in The Commons
Ive been thinking about buying measure metrics specifically, figure metrics, to create figure shapes. Am I able under the eula to export that shape as a new character body to be used for sale like other mr morphs? I couldn't find any info or copy of the eula in the readme.
Does fm use its own morphs, or is it just controlling the standard Genesis body morphs? From the available documentation, it looks like fm installs it's own morphs or deformers for each of the Genesis models.
I don't want to spend the money on mm if the outputted bodies aren't distributable.
Thanks

Measure metricts only mesures the height/measurements of a character. I doesn't create any morphs, and you need the plugin to "read" the data.
I'm not sure if you are referring to the correct product?
What it does is, it adds "measure points" to certain nodes of the character, and then measures the distance from one point to the other.
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/plugins/measure_metrics/start
EDIT: What it allows you to do is enter values of inches ot centimeters, which are then translated to a spin dial value of the existing morphs of the character.
In any case, if you want to use it as a merchant resource, you'd have to contact the PA Who created it.
If something is marketed as a Merchant Resource it will say so on the store page, and will show up if you do a store search fro "Merchant Resource"
If in doubt file a help ticket. Measure metrics is a Daz Original
Follow up on this, I am advisded
"Measure Metrics is not a "Merchant Resource," it is a collection of tools. It consists of a plugin that provides measuring capabilities in the form of new measurement focused node types that you can add to the scene and a pane for viewing the measurements provided by those types of nodes. It also comes with "Figure Metrics," which consists of some presets for the Genesis figures (1, 2, and 3, both male and female) that create and setup various measure metrics nodes, a script that provides an ability to configure which properties are involved in which measurements and the ability to enter desired measurements and have it iteratively adjust the configured properties in its best attempt to achieve those measurements (some combinations simply are not possible), along with some morphs used for taking basic measurements on the Genesis figures. None of the assets (i.e., plugin, presets, scripts, morphs, etc.) that are included in the product can be redistributed, but the results you arrive at using the tools certainly can; as the tools purpose (at least Figure Metrics) is to help automate a process that can be tedious when performed by hand."
Okay, that's what I really wanted to know...that the results of using the Figure Metrics to resize a new character are mine...as opposed to using the standard Gen3 Head and Body Morphs which require removal before exporting a body geometry.
Basically, I wanted to use Figure Metrics to apply standard body measurements to my character (say I want a short and petite model), and export the result as my new character morph. There is nothing in the MM or FM guides that specifically say what you can and can't do with you FM altered mesh. I couldn't find any EULA at all. The only reason I ask about FM being a Merchant Resource is that it apparently uses its own morphs to resize and reshape. (Or does it rely on already installed morphs to work?)
Of course, I could create a new figure of approximate size just by using the MR morphs that I already own. It just looked like Figure Metrics could be a real help to get close to the target body size before tweaking with the merchant resource morphs. I don't want to redistribute any of the FM dials. But, I do want the ability to sell any figure that I create by using the Figure Metrics tools for body sizing. It wouldn't do me much good to buy the MM/FM tools and then find out that I couldn't use the results in a commercial product.
Thanks for all the replies!
