clothing, texture-distortion and multi uv-mapping

Another more serious item on my part, maybe it has been discussed before......

As one thing is very noticeable in a render, it is the texture distortion you get when you use a figure that is not quite 'standard', be it a bigger, taller, shorter, more busty or flatchested character. A great chance the render will not look that nice because of the strechting of 'textures with a pattern' in all the 'wrong' places. Of course, it won't be possible to get a fix for all situations, but is it very difficult to come with a clothing model that has more than one uv-map option? The only clothing that comes to mind that has such an option (as I have that item cheeky ) is http://www.daz3d.com/mall-girl-for-genesis

I've also noticed another clothing item at an other store that offers some different uv-map options (in that case for use with 'Skyler').

Again anyone any thoughts on this? I'm not a modeler, so I've got no notion how much extra work it is to create it (apart from the extra testing that will be necessary; having done some testwork myself, I'm well aware that modeling it is just one part of the job.....).
