Keeping bones with their selection faces?

Is there a way to keep bones with their face groups? I have an outfit with a string knot on it and I want to rig the string so it can swing around. The problem I'm having is when the parent bone is moved it pulls the child bone too far with it and ends up pulling it out of its face group which pulls the knot out of place.

I can use translate to move the knot back into place after each pose but I was wondering if there's a way to keep it where it's supposed to be.
