For the past year and a half, they have been hidden under the blue banner on every device I own. But they're finally back. Gracias.

haha I didn't even know this was thing until today I started to type in Aiko and it GAVE ME SUGGESTIONS for different Aiko versions. lol I was like 'Whoa! That's new - and very helpful'. I haven't been around long enough to realize that it used to be a thing. heheh I'm glad they fixed it, that's defintely helpful!

I'm jealous. Your renders certainly look like you've been around more than a year and a half.

Really!? Awwwww That's kind of you to say - you put a big smile on my face! I look at other people's 3D art and I'm like "AHHH I Suck!" and so it's really nice to hear when other people say something like that about my art. :)

I've only been doing 3D art for about 5 months or so, but I've been a comic artist for a few years - and while 2D art is a lot different than 3D art, I think maybe it helps to have a background in art. Even if it's such a different art medium.

Thanks again for the lovely comment - I needed to hear that as I'd been a bit down about my 3D work lately.

I, too, know that feeling of disappointment about my 3D work, as I did my first Iray render in May, and I'm still trying to suss out how to make Iray look as good as Reality or Octane and how to light an interior with no windows (without removing a wall or ceiling). I have found that the only way out of it is to keep on rendering and changing things until I understand what the parameters do and how they interact. You have a knack for this it is clear. Keep on working and helping others like you do. Find the subject matter that lights your fire, and the fire will do the rest.

@xyer0, we had this discussion over in the New Users section, it maybe will give you some ideas about indoor lights: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/110771/natural-iray-lighning-for-rooms#latest

You angel! Thank you again for your help. BTW, my character's eyes turned out great. Thanks again for showing me what I could not see.

Thank you, xyer0! :D Yeah, I'm still trying to "find my nitch" on what I like to render. Hopefully I'll eventually find my fire. :)

Not much of an "angel" here, but you're welcome. smiley

Lights are really something that needs a lot of time to learn properly. I started out in 3Delight, and literally began experimenting with a single spotlight, then added a fill light, and a back light, and a top light... love AOA's lights to pieces in 3DL. But Iray is a lot simpler in regards to light, as you mostly just need to think along the lines of "What would I do in real life to create light in that scene?". But I still learn something new with every render.
