MegafastGrab Q: Ancient History, Current Issue. Two SP3's the same?.. or Not?

I know this is really old news, but maybe a Daz 'historian' or longtime Dazaholic can assist.

I (did) purchase Sephanie 3 Petite base a long long time ago. But in the Mega fastgrab today it came up with a Stephanie 3 Petite base and  Daz said I didn't have it.

The titles imply one is 'updated'  but the descriptions are EXACTLY the same, word for word on the contents.  Does anybody know the difference?

I still have SP3 in my repertoire and I'm asking because I'd like to know if I should spend the money to get the one if I already have the other.

Time is limited by today's MegaFastGrab.  Here are the links:

http://www.daz3d.com/stephanie-3-0-petite-base-upgrade-from-stephanie

I was thinking that the first one (the one I have) might be a complete character and the second  an upgrade from a version of non-petite Stephanie. The problem is that I would expect the complete SP3 character to be included in the partial [edit: meant partial to be included in complete] and in this case it seems to be reversed, with the complete character SP3 included in the 'upgrade'.

Anybody know?

As you say the upgrade pack upgrades the original Stephanie to Steph petite.  It does this at a cheaper price, because you will aoready have the base mesh on your PC if you had pruchased Stephanie (original)

The Steph Petite package includes the base mesh and full Steph petite, as without the prior purchase you need this, so hence it is more expensive.

The upgrade is for owners of the 1st, older, Stephaniel, they don't pay the 'full price'.

Stephanie is from the same 'generation' as Victoria (or Victoria 1) etc, so as such it could be referred to as SP1 cheeky

laugh beaten by chohole, should have guessed..... cool

Yes, I was able to get SP3 at an upgrade price because I already had the old Stephanie :).

Wow, I've been at this 3D business for way too long. LOL

Thanks for the 'history' lessons. I often wondered if there was a Stephanie 3 (non-petite) and it sounds like, "no". It sounds like Stephanie Petite 3 was a unique character that didn't fit to Victoria 1 or Victoria 3 but may have been built on the Stephanie 1 mesh as Vicky 3 came out.

More importantly it also sounds like I have the right character pack and I don't need the upgrade, which means Dazbucks for another artist's product. Wahoo.

(It also looks like Daz has their bundles reversed in their advertising).

SP3 was actually a Generation 3 figure based on her own mesh, not on the original Stephanie, who - if I remember correctly - was based off of Michael 1 ;). To be honest, because it was so long ago, I think the unimesh thing started with the Generation 4 figures, but I'm not entirely certain. LOL

    SP3, V3 A3 could all wear the same skins. D3, M3 &H3  ditto.

Remember that all the generation 3 meshes where funamentally one mesh, since they could use each other's textures. They were just morphed differently. As you correctly said S1 used the same mesh as M1 (odd it did not use the V1 mesh), where as V1 had the same mesh as the Millenium Boys and Girls. This meant S1 could used M1's textures, but I doubt many people took advantage of that!

I rember seeing a couple of bearded lady images at one time.   and the same with gen 3; I do remember some bearded babies and toddlers made using Luke or Matt or even the mill baby 3.

I recall I had a "second edition" or something of V3 (or possibly V2 or Stephanie, but I think it was V3) which was sold as a separate product. AFAIR it had more morphs than the original V3. I can't find it anywhere in my library or in the store though.

V3 SAE (Second Anniversary Edition) replaced V3.

Well found it when I searched for "V3". It's actually a Magix 101 product:

And an example how terrible the store search is - I entered the exact title of the product and got this:

Yes I recall that it's called V3 SAE in the library.

Anyone know what hair that is? It's actually better looking than some of the newer hair coming out now!

Oh, I think it's Goddess hair, also by Magix101. I wonder if it's a hr2 or cr2.... In any case it could be parented. I forgot, I actually have a lot of their hair, I might try some on G3...

I appreciate the link above from Chohole. I've always wondered why Daz has never put something like that, which documents the characters they've had over the years,  in easily accessible literature.
