Re time key frames?
in The Commons
Is i tposible or is there a plug in that allows you to re time an animation when addign frames? I am trying to use a work flow in daz i used in poser where i create an animation at 1 FPS, then increase that to 5 FPS ... until i get to 24 FPS, alows me to fix small problems and gradually build up, in Poser there was a re time animation feature, in DAZ if i go form 5 FPS to 10 it blow sup the animation.
Anyway to do this? or even insert frames between key frams?

i think even mcasual jaques has no script for doing this
would be nice if you could
but no
You should be able to do this with an aniMate 2 aniblock
six years old...
but this video shows the general concept
Poser can do this and its the only thing Poser has a leg up on in DAZ IMO, I wish DAZ would put some time in and give us som eanimation tools to do animations from scratch Vs these pre built things. Re timing an animation is basic stuff as is inserting frames where needed in 99% of apps that do animations, DAZ being the 1% thta cant apparntly
MCasual to the rescue, as usual Here it is, appropriately named mcj RetimeAnimation
Lots of useful options too. Can't believe it existed since 2012.
Yes Animate2 can do it the non-linear time-stretching way.
When I want to re-time an existing animation/aniblock (w/ purchased/registered animate2), I get the animation segment in question into an aniblock, use the 'stretch/compress' percentage feature of Animate tab in the edit mode, and go from there, either re-burning it to the DS Timeline for continued tweaking or re-baking to an new re-timed aniblock. If this is what you need to do, try:
- bake your animation into an aniblock if it's not already in one (animate2 tab, right-click on background, create aniblock from studio keys)
- in the animate2 tab, click on the aniblock once to get basic edit mode (black with pointers on each end and the little green blend thingy)
- just above the block in the animate2 menu/icon area at the top of the tab, change the percentage of the block to more or less than 100% (in the little field that's set to 100%), depending on the speed intent. Type it, or use the up/dow arrows for increments of +-10%.The block should stretch or shrink, depending on which direction you adjust the number,
- verify that the animation timing is what you want.
Assuming you're working on the DS TImeline:
- right/click to 'bake to studio keyframes'
- delete/disable the current aniblock (no blocks active to bother your DS Timeline work...)
- edit the re-timed animation to taste on the DS timeline tab using your manual adjustments and KeyMate/GraphMate if you've bought them.
Re-save this work as an aniblock if you like:
- go back to the animate2 tab and right-click, 'create aniblock from studio-keyframes'
- rename and save the new aniblock (i'd use a new name, rather than stomp on the original...)
Note that without leaving animate2, you can clip/crop an aniblock, then retime *just the clipped subsection* using this technique, then re-'join' the newly timed section with the original aniblock pieces and re-name/re-save the whole ball of wax if you like.
Does that accomplish what need?
I do this often to create/adjust aniblocks that I can use/convert into cararra and/or use in DS if needed. Not sure if it solves your problem though, but it is handy to know...
FWIW, I love mcj's scripts and use many of them often, but be aware that they expect the keyframe data to exist on the DS Timeline (bake it...), so the back-and-forth from existing aniblocks might take more steps, but may still serve your needs.
