What does the word "Armageddon" mean to you??

It means a lot of things to me.  A great movie and what will happen in the future (I am a Christian.)

However, today, it meant that my P3DO crashed!!!  I had no idea why it crashed.

Anyway, I am organizing my hundreds of products for V4.  I used P3DO Explorer Pro to find my Armageddon: Airiolus and Beezlebabe II  outfit.

I really didn't think anything of it because I had a lot of things open on my computer and figured it was just much for my computer.

Then, when I tried to reopen  P3DO and  I received an error message, "For security purposes, this program will not run while system debuggers are active. Please remove or disable the system debugger before trying to run this program again. "

I tried several times and got the same error message.

Then, as I always do, I Googled the message.  Here is what I found http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-performance/for-security-purposes-this-program-will-not-run/89909a1b-5b4c-4c88-ae59-7ec8ff523bdc:

For anybody else out there that gets this error: Check any file you're accessing or any application you're running for the word "Armageddon".  In my case, I had the word in some search results and it caused another program to throw that error window.  By clearing the search results from the one program allowed the other to proceed normally.  I didn't even have to restart it.

I'm certainly not arguing this is always the cause of the debugger error, but it is ONE cause.

Well, low and behold, I still had the Armageddon: Airiolus and Beezlebabe II  outfit folder open.

I closed everything and was able to open up Excel, P3DO, Windows 7 Exployer and Internet Exployer.

Isn't that really strange?  Sort of creepy.

I've experienced something similar with the old 3D ContentDatabase 2 which imported product data from XML files. But if an XML file contained the word Passport anywhere in the file, the file would not load. If you changed the P to lower case (passport) it would load fine. Makes no sense programming wise but there must be a logical reason for it.

It's funny though that it's the word Armageddon, could be some programmer who has had some fun with adding some "funny" code.

Isn't everything connected with the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine) a bit creepy and strange?
At least you got it sorted. End of last week I had Windows block Photoshop for some unknown reason. Turned out to be the folder not the program. Still don't know why it did it.

I definitely don't consider myself religious in any way, although I do have faith but probably not the type of faith you'd normally think of. But the term Armageddon doesn't make me think of the movie. It takes me to the translation into 'Har Megiddo' or 'Hill of Megiddo'. In other words the main area of the world where good and evil will conduct it's final battle, i.e. armageddon. I get this largely from The Omen series of films (first three only) and novels, more than any actual religious text.

Maybe it's one of the signs of the impending apocalypse?

    ROFL!!!   That was so cute!!

Yep, the entire thing was weird!!

"Jan_Scrapper"  I want to have a wonderful screen name.  That was like 12 years ago when I was into digital scrapping my family photos!!!

Taozen  That was really interesting.  At the time, it kind of makes you angry, but heck, a good programmer could rule the world....that is scrary!!

    As an aethiest:

... The end of our world, and to be more specific humanity; could it happen? Of course, there have been a number of extinction level events during the Earth's history. The most famous is perhaps the Dinosaur's.

So certainly somewhere out there, is a big rock with our name on it. Then there are the super volcanoes; and one of those is about due (Yellowstone) - but about due has some leaway due to the geological nature of those timescales. (Every 600 million years: one erupts iirc.)

But armageddon can be more localised; consider the major earthquakes, and their potential for Tsunamis. To me and my family, my/our world ending is quite bad enough.

But disaster movies (and books) are a great source of entertainment.

From a computer perspective - Backups. Do lots of 'em.
