Fennec for AM foxes is not by AM

Fennec Foxes requires Foxes for AM, but isn't by AM.  This Fennec Foxes are custom LAMH presets that use Foxes by AM.

Oops. Didn't notice that! Hope his store goes on sale!

  • Seems to be an "eats, shoots, and leaves" hiccup. It's "Fennec, for Foxes by AM" not "Fennec for Foxes, by AM".

And I just bought it.  <chirp>

Yes, that's the noise fennecs make instead of <squee>...

  • Since there is not another thread for the Fennec product, I wanted to ask exactly what the iRay preset is suppoed to do? I didn't think that LAMH was able to work with iRay without exporting to obj or converting to fibermesh, so I miss the point of an iRay setting.

  • Hmm, don't know yet.  I just got it installed, but haven't played with it yet.  I would assume, not having looked at it yet, that the preset is the exported FiberHair that matches up with the different poses in the set.  There would be one FiberHair preset for each of the different poses.  The user shouldn't have to go into LAMH at all.  One benefit is that all of the work the vendor on styling the fur is in the preset, including any unique surface settings for the fur have to go with a pose preset.  That's how I'm doing it for one set of poses I'm working on anyway.  I don't know for sure yet how this vendor is doing it.  If that is how the presets are done, then the vendor has done all of the work for the user and the user doesn't have to worry about exporting or converting to FiberHair.  As long as the FiberHair isn't parented and has a unique name, one can have as many FiberHair as memory will allow in the scene tab.  Of course, the user would still have to use LAMH if using a pose not in the Fennec Fox pack.  I believe there were only about 4 or 5 poses in the set.

Again, I haven't actually opened it up, but theoretically you can have a preset for each pose and all you would have to do is apply the preset to the fox after it has been posed and the FiberHair should line up with the pose.  As I said, though, this all just a guess until I actually go into the product and take a look at it.
