Problem with IRAY and layered image editor render

Hi,

I am having a problem with IRAY and the layered image editor render.

I am getting a gray sheen. I am using masks.

When I first make the layered image it renders fine but later it renders with the gray.

I am not sure if I can show nudity in the forum so I have covered some of her bits and pieces.

Any help will be appreicated.

  • That looks like a mis-match in the gamma values. Click on the little square that shows a mini-version of the image and select Image Editor, make sure the value for Gamma is consistent across all of the skin textures.

  • Hi Richard,

Thanks so much for your help.

  • Hi Richard,

The problem is not the gamma, it's the translucency.

If i put no mask on the translucency color it renders red. See the attached image.

If I put a base color and a mask on the translucency it throws the mask out.

If I put a png on, it's fine until I apply a new layered image then when I re-apply the mat file that worked before it renders like the second body in the attached image.

Does the LIE no longer work with the new IRAY in 4.9?

I did not have this problem before 4.9.

  • So is the problem with the material using the layered image, or the reapplied base material? Could you give a walk-through of the exact steps (image names aside) to trigger this? Layered Images should still be working, by the time they are passed to Iray (or 3delight) they have been turned into flattened tiff files, but it is of course always possible that some sequence of actions is triggering a bug.

  • Hi Richard,

       Operator related.

The problem is with the IRAY settings on the character I was using to develop the LIE.

I am using a different character with different IRAY and it is now working just fine.

Thanks so much for your help.
