Thought I'd join the fun. I bought this a couple of days ago and I've been playing with some of my old characters. Please note she does have underwear on in case someone wants to object.
...so I guess my question should actually be. Which version offers the most control for creating the best looking skin possible, NGS for G3 or NGS II? I can only afford one at this time.
While waiting for NGS2 to be released I used NGS1 VERY heavily.
Since using NGS2 I find the newer product to be far superior. Not quite sure what you mean by "control". I find I don't need to make any alterations after applying NGS2 to a figure. i just load the script, it does it's work and I get good skin. Hope this helps.
Can anyone explain what is happening here and tell me how to resolve it, please? I think (HAH!) I have applied Anagenessis correctly, but the tongue (and perhaps the inside of the cheeks) is white. I opened the figure in Surfaces and then hit the Gen 3 script button in Content Library, which seems to highlight the entire figure rather than (say) the mouth. I can't actually find the tongue in the Surfaces tab.
Then I realised the image maps were absent and when loading them Daz crashed - but during the loading the whteness remained.

DAZ Version?
Genesis 3 Female/Male?
If so did you run Anagenessis 2 Genesis 3 Script for Genesis 3 figure?
Did your mouth surface had diffuse map before you applied the script?
Possibly not - the first time, but I think I applied the script again after giving it some image - the problem is that Daz then crashed as I was trying to add images in other parts (glossy, etc.).

The script has been saved from 4.8 and tested there. But let me check it once again and I'll send you feedback.
OK, I think I've found the faulty parameter for my issue :) ... Slowly progressing.
Scatter&Transmit (in "Base color effect") gives incoherent and uncontrollable results on my PC, for some reasons. Once set on "Scatter only", it works normally. So here with NGS, I have to set it on Scatter only, and then slightly adjust the transluency up, then I get a good results, no more greenish/redish/yellowish characters, no more too dark/saturated skins, and no more color hues that spreads irregulary over the figure (with scatter&transmit, depending of the poses, some characters had the chest/head greenish, while the rest of the body was looking normal...).
Now the question is, why does it do that on my PC, while other people don't seem to have this issue with the scatter&transmit setting ? But anyway I'm happy, finally found the fix :) .
Navi, thanks for this post. My African/Indian skins were coming out 3 tones darker than I had ever seen them, but I could not discover why. When I changed the Skin and Lips surfaces to Scatter Only, I got the colour I expected, albeit with less glow/sparkle. If you want a really dark skin to shine (as really dark skin often does in real life) then N.G.S. unedited gives you even darker skin with shine. BTW, really gorgeous poolside render.
Thank you xyer0 :) , and glad my "fix" was able to help, I didn't have much time to make enough tests, but indeed you need to make further changes on other surfaces to regain the gloss effect (a more bright top coat color worked for me in some cases, but not for all skins), and to slightly alter the skin color. This issue with Scatter and transmit is strange, so far I've got it on all G2 chars using V4 skins I tested, but not on those using native-G2 skins, which work better with scatter& transmit... Can't figure out why this difference happens.
...I wish someone would answer my quesrions I posted. I don't have alot of money like others here so I need to make sure what I spend goes a long way.
I don't have the first one to compare, but remember the first one seems to be Genesis 3 only, while the second supports all figures, that makes a big difference too.

Sorry Navi if I interfere to this converstation, but I need to understand what exactly is your issue and see if I can help you.
So i wanna ask you, are the results are better, worst or not what you're expecting? Or color differences?
Can you please explain me these things Navi to see more clear what you want to do. For exaple you want it for photorealism or for toon style?

No problem of course :) , the issue is the same one I explained in my 1st post in this thread, and with the "Scatter only" workaround, it works better for me, although I have some other adjustments to make on other surfaces. But there seem to be a difference between V4 skins and G2F skins, for me : On G2F skins, the problem doesn't seem to happen. On V4 skins (used on G2F), it always happens, this is where I have to change Scatter &transmit to Scatter only.
I'll try to make more comparison renders, to show you what I get, because it's hard to explain just with words. I have to go right now, but I'll be back in a few hours with some pictures. Thank you again for the help :)

And when I saw some before and after images why did the images I the before because darker? And more "lifeless"? Is there anyway to adjust this?
Samples please. Thnx D-Z
I was looking for before and after photos a while ago but I can't seem to find it now but these are taken from the annagenesis for G3 female and you can see that the colors changed. Why is that? By the way thanks for replying really fast :)

Different translucency and tint color. Same lights and the after image is closed to diffuse map.
But anyway this thread is for NGS Anagenessis 2 only.
The promos you saw are from previous version.
Thnx

Are they different? And if so what what are their differences? :)
Nope: I started playing with first Beta, left for Carrara in DS2.5 and came back to DS4.8/9.
So I skipped 3Delight which I'm glad but know not DS as I know C and even English is not my mother language. Lol, some months ago I learned about groups in DS; I was still using Null
And I learn and forget and have to relearn constantly :P
Yes cutout opacity or more resource consuming refraction weight, tweaking with push modifier too cause it is a V4 hair made by Exnem used on a GF3
I will test geografts now that the update is here. I will post results where that is posible, my adult DeviantArt gallery

...well the original NGS has a number of parameters listed inm the product description which NGS II doesn't

P.S.
What platform? Windows or Mac?
Leon in two clicks...
Lonely Kind Man - also with two clicks...
Many thanks again, Dimension-Z. For me one click conversion works well and solves a lot of problems with the older files.

Thnx very much Artini! I like all people here that love Art & want to try new techniques!
So thank you & every person who purchased this product & I'm here as you see for all of you to help you as much as I can.

I have made a quick test and rendered mouth of Vyria - http://www.daz3d.com/vyria-for-arabella-7
She uses Genesis 3 Female UV maps and I cannot see any problem with rendering of inner mouth.
The render below was made with Daz Studio iray default lights.

Windows, thanks.
Pretty good Jean Reno. Well done.
May I ask how you apply this on the alien and dragon figures since the preset thumbnails are for Genesis figures?

Thanks for your update! Loading it :)
This I did last night
Very nice work!
You can lower Body Hair with opacity, I think you already know that.
Begginer with DAZ?
