question about morphs

those who uses mores, do you use morphs over buying new characters?how do you know when you should buy one just when one catches your eye?

  • Well, I use morphs and characters together.  I know this is a pretty good option for designing a huge selection of very individualized characters, but not an economic one.

Depending on what a person uses DAZ for is probably which model they will invest in, if they can only pick from one.

I am a pro Comicbook artist, so I choose from an array of toony models ranging from Aiko 6, Hiro 5, Hitomi, and whatever models I can get for Genesis 1 (which is what both Hiro 5 and Hitomi are based off of).  Do I think I can get anime style looks and features using only Genesis Evolution morphs and Genesis 1?

Maybe, but even with the morphs, I've found that I just can't get the exact look that I'm trying to achieve in the end.  Also, some character specific morphs only work correctly if you already own the primary model first - Aiko 5 has lots of really cool characters tangents that work for only her, but if you only own  the stock Gensis 1 and the morphs bundle, I doubt you'll get that exact final outcome.

An artist on ShareCG, I think SickleYield, has some morph expansion packs there for free - but I still haven't been able to replicate the base Hiro 5 or Hitomi using just the base morphers, SYs free morphers, and Genesis 1.  I think it's best to use the model with the morphers and in conjunction with the two together, you can bring a uniqueness to your character's design.
