can you edit/modify aniblocks?

Say if you have an aniblock of someone walking but you want the preferred action to be someone walking but with their head turned to the right, can this be done? are you able to edit aniblocks for animate2 or is there no way? thankyou.

  • Mmm.... well, you really need Graphmate and/or Timeline in order to wipe out the extra keyframes that are affecting the area that you want to change.

I have run into the same issues with AniBlocks recently, and forgive me - I am also new to this as well.  Everything I've learned I've watched on the DAZ tutorials that people offer on YouTube.

If a character has 'unprogrammed' data (motion) in a specific body zone, then you will not have any issues adding your own custom pose into the final cut.  However, if your character has a motion already programmed into the keyframe of a specific body zone and you want to change it to another, then you will have to delete the current keyframes from that particular body part.

EX:  You want the right forearm of your character to twist instead of bend in an AniBlock.  You will need to go into the KeyFrames for that particular Body Part (The Right Forearm), and remove the Bend axis from your character's Right Forearm, and then go back in and add the motion that you are trying to achieve.

As a new user of AniBlocks, changing these preprogrammed motions - even with Timeline and Graphmate can be time consuming and sometimes cumbersome.

I highly recommend this YT video as it helped me immensely about learning animation techniques and also best understanding GraphMate and Timeline and what each entails:

Hi the aniblock is a self contained "script" of motion data
assuming you have the full version of animate 2 you must" bake" the aniblock to Daz studio keyframes and edit the motion using GraphMate or keyMate.
