Hi, I have been eyeing MEC4Ds PBS shaders Vol 1 and Vol 3 for a while, have Vol 2 and love it. Well both are on sale right now and the question I have is are they different really? Both have pure metals, both have micro detail, both have scratched/scuffed stuff. Are they they same but one is okay vendors to use in products for sale and the other isn't?
Thanks, appreciate any help!

Thanks TabascoJack. I searched but couldn't find that and didnt want to hijack a Volume 2 thread which is still sort of alive. I'll read about it all there!
Yes, they are different. Vol 3 is more of a one-click solution, though it also has micro-surfaces, a second click. With Vol 1, you find the metal you're interested in, narrow it down to a specific base, then add things to it, like rust, etc. Honestly, if Vol 1 were just metals, I'd say get Vol 3 instead. But Vol 1 also includes paints, plastics, oxydation layers... lots of stuff not in Vol 3.
Volume 1 has met all my metal needs so far and so although I'd wishlisted Volume 3, I was on the fence about buying it in the sale. However, I was a winner in a competition where Volume 2 was a prize and decided that buying Volume 3 tonight would not only complete my Mec4D shader collection, it would be as good a way as any in helping to repay Cath for her generosity with the competition and so it went in the cart. Having downloaded Volume 3 now and had a play with it, I've no regrets. I can see it getting used at least as much as Volume 1, if not more.
I decided to get Volume 3 though I was sorely tempted to get Volume 1 too. In fact if I hadn't already used my PA coupon this month I would have gotten both. I have other shaders that do paint, rough paint, rust, plastic, etc. Maybe I'll regret it but I thought a top notch metals set with lots of options was a bigger need given my existing shader library. But truthfully it came down in large part to which previews grabbed me more, and the previews for Vol 3 are amazing, just won me over. Anyway, I know with MEC4Ds stuff I can't lose so I'm just happy this deal popped up!
Thanks for all your suggestions and help!
