Spellchecking is back!

Thank you, forum coder, whoever you are.
I did so miss iOS native spellchecking. It's a little thing, but it means a lot to some of us.

This thread made me literally laugh out loud. Thanks guys! :)
(sigh)
Upon first seeing the subject, I thought that maybe it was cool again to proofread our writings before we hit "send". I'll happily take any change in the current trend. Sadly, I realize now that I was wrong.
Having a spell-checker is nice and all (and thank you), but it does little if the writer doesn't care to use it, right?
Bonus points if you can find a mispelling in this post.
Glad we could bring a chuckle to your day.
Tisting, tisting.
I use Chrome on the Mac, and the spell checker appears to operate by default. I get warned of errors as I'm typing. I fail to see why others have spelling problems.
Because I couldn't resist.
I mostly post from my iPad... So I get the privilege of Apple deciding what I actually mean and if I don't pay close attention, it likes to go back and change stuff after it's accepted it, based on a new word I just typed. It's fun to go back and see weird changes you know you didn't type.
Found it: fifth line, eight word.
The idea of a writer caring to use a spelling checker is facilitated by supporting the native checker. On any Apple product (laptop, iPad, even phones) the spell checker is largely automatic, unobtrusive, and it's turned on by default. It's actually a convenience because it also provides you with word completion as you type, so there is incentive to use it.
This forum took that convenience away, and substituted a manual spell check so crude that it looks like something from 20 years ago. In my world, no one gets to make a decision that bad: there are too many checks and balances. No one used to realtime checking is going to run one of those ancient "post processing" spell checkers.
You can enable SCAYT (Spell Checking As You Type). But if you want the browser-based spell checker back, I have just the script for that. Last one on my scripts page, link in signature.
Perhaps the faithless could implement a spil chucker that sends your text into the cloud. Lets it be commented on by machines and rabid spelling/grammar nazis from the widest flung dialect regions of your language and returns it to your input field so that you have full confidence that it says everything you wanted to say in complete incomprehensibility.
