iRay visible in render

Does the "visible in render" speed up iRay rendering? Or do objects have to be deleted to reduce the compiling and/or rendering duration?

I'm pretty sure just making things invisible will speed it up - probably not as much as removing them all together. But I'm pretty sure hiding them helps.

Watching this thread for a definitive answer.

  • Yes, if something is set to be invisible it will not be passed to iray. Note that this doesn't apply (in 3Delight and, as far as I know, in Iray) to objects that are fully transparent but not actually set to Visible off.
