Asking the Artist Directly....

Is there a way at DAZ to ask a question to an artist directly (Message them?) as at other forums?

That depends. Not all Published Artists (I assume you mean them?) come to the forum, or wish to handle personal contact with a customer. A good number of them are here in the forum, though, and you can ask questions either in the product threads here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/daz-pa-commercial-products or PM them.

Okay, How do I PM an artist at DAZ?  Specifically I'd like to ask Art Collab a straightforward question about a characcter.

Send them a PM.    Click on their name under the avatar on any forum post that they have made, and then click "Message"    Art Collab is  DAZ_ann0314  and frank0314

They are both fairly active in the Forums, so should be easy to find one of their posts.

Just PM me or my wife and we can help you out. If the question is about a prop PM me. If it's about a character then PM my wife.

Okay, I PM'd Frank (should have pm'd his wife as it is about a V4 character, Jess, and what hairstyle is used in the main promo). I think it worked, but Frank hasn't responded when I'm pretty sure he would have, and there is no "sent" copy anywhere I can see; not sure if this system keeps "sent" PMs. So no idea if anything was actually sent.

That leads to next dumb question: Given Frank's wife's address here, how do I PM?   I went to my account to the envelope and clicked around on a bunch of stuff but don't see anywhere to enter an address.  Frank's was 'easy' because I followed direcctions and clicked on the link under the avatar. But when there is an adddress but no avatar.....

Sorry in advance for the really ignorant questions.

And, no, my VCR only flashed 12:00 after power outages which are becoming ever more frequent here.

The sent is in your inbox,  THis PM system works like a private chat room, so you have a conversation with whoever you PM.

    As Chohole said.

To find you Inbox, click on the little cogwheel in the upper right corner of the forum page (1), then select it from the list (2).

Thank you both. BeeMKay your attachment was most helpful.  I was focused on "Messages" and the "Envelope" icon under accounts (Why doesn't that do anything?). I would never in a million years have looked at the cog on the right. Well, maybe eventually.

My 'sent' did go through and Frank did leave me a prompt answer to my Jess Char Hairstyle question (Bandua Hair and special textures). It was there waiting for me.

I am embarasseed to say that it looks like I used PM once before a few years ago (the message is still there) and through it Jack Tomilin helped me make an informed decision to try Lightwave softeware, which I am still learning.  I just forgot how to do it (PM).

    Alles ist ganz gut.
