Stormwind Capes for V4 (Poser Dynamic?)

If my memory is correct, Stormwind Capes for V4 (SKU: 27901) is a Poser dynamic cloth, in which case it would not be useful in Daz Studio as claimed on the product page.

I noticed there is a couple of items at least that I know to be Poser Only in the new lot of RDNA stuff that has come over, but have DS compatible on the page. I think perhaps to get everything in the store quickly, it's more of a cut'n'paste thing. Might be worth sending in a ticket to support to notify them.

Isn't it possible to run Pose dynamics in DS with that Rendo script for clothes dynamics? Just wondering.

You can try converting them to DS dynamic clothes with DynCreator, but there's no guarantee on the result.

Update on use with DynCreator: The script works fine on the item, so if you have the script, using the dynamics is no problem at all.

Here's a render straight out of the box in Iray, no changes except DynCreator application on the item.

  • I've got the same question with today's SciWizard dynamic cloak.  How well does the dynamic work on it?

No luck with the Dyncreator, it totally comes apart; as it is, the item can't be used in DS.

EDIT: Note: The dynamics transfer properly, but the parts of the clothing are not welded together, so you have several objects when you start the dynamics run. The cape itself, for example, is somewhat draped over the box.

You sweetheart! I have wanted Stormwind Capes since it came out. I have DynCreator, but I had forgotten that it also could convert Poser Dynamic. Now I can get the Stormwind Cape and dress my hermitess. One question: What are the white marks on her right forearm and belly?

That's light reflections on this beautiful character: http://www.daz3d.com/fugitive-pro

I didn't convert it to Iray before rendering, so there's a little bit too much reflection at some places of the skin.

So, she does work in DS?  I've been eyeing that whole line of stuff, but it still says Poser only so I wasn't sure if there was something in there I didn't know about.

Yes, and she looks fantastic (at least in her base skin, haven't tried the others). I'm using this for transferring the skins to Iray: http://www.daz3d.com/iray-converter-for-generation-4

Most character work fine in DS. At least, that's my experience. There are exceptions, of course.

EDIT: I added three test renders I made. Skin conversion was a simple click on the converter, using the standard settings.

Thanks for the uploading the images.  Those look great.  I did get Fugitive Pro for Genesis 2 because I wasn't sure about the V4 version.  I like V4, though, and if Fugitive Pro for  V4 looks that good, I'd get that, too, for a back up just because I have some tools for V4 that I don't have for G2 and vice versa.  It all depends on the situation I'm putting the figure in as to which figure would work better.  And, I do have that conversion set already.
