Crawk crashing my system

Is anyone having problems with Crawk? Whenever I attempt to render my system crashes. 

I'm using 4.8, 970, 16mb ram

I have almost all of Rawns characters and have never had an issue, so I hesitated to post this as I don't want to give a bad impression of his work.  I'm sure this is user error on my part and I'm just to thick to figure it out.

*Update - I was able to render him with no materials, just the neutral gray Genesis color, so I've troubleshot it down to an issue with the materials.
