Content Installed Via DIM Still Requiring Connect Installation

Forced to re-download Daz Studio by Windows 10 eminent domain of my Windows 8 laptop (it happens) Friday morning, I chose to use this as an opportunity to finally organise my content logically. So, I downloaded DS 4.9xx to my C: drive (along with plug-ins like GenX), but I had DIM load my content files to an empty 2TB external drive. A little over 24 hours and 900 gb later, I pointed DS' Content Directory Manager to the My Daz 3D Library on the external drive, exited, and opened it. I waited for it to reconnect with whatever it was (evidently connecting me to Connect), clicked on the Content Library, and... nothing there.

I loaded a scene I had worked on, and once I loaded the Daz Default Resources through Daz Connect (prompt told me to), the complete scene loaded. Thus, all the files were accessed from the external drive, but the Content Library thumbnails were still not showing even though I clicked on alphabets, and I can see all the full folders of content in the Daz Studio Formats box. I exited and re-opened DS to no avail. I restarted the computer to no avail.

What did I miss?

This is a clean install, you didn't restore back-ups of the AppData folder? You don't get any error messages? If you look at the Installed tab in DIM are most items showing a tick in the Metadata column (some won't as they don't have metadata, but most should)?

No, sir, I did not restore back-ups of the AppData folder. The only error message is that I had installed both the LAMH player and the advanced version and they are mutually incompatible. I looked at DIM, and there are NO ticks on ANY items. (It took several minutes for DIM to load: That's what took me so long). So, how do I fix this?

I selected all items in the Installed tab of DIM, right clicked on the top, and clicked Re-import Metadata. Was that the plan? BTW, thank you Richard, for holding down the DAZ fort all the time.

If none of the items had a tick that suggests that for some reason DIM failed to enter them in the CMS - that might have happened if you'd had DS open, closed it, and immediately opened DIM (it can take a few moments, or even minutes in the worst cases, for the PostgreSQL processes to close and if DIM or DS starts while they are still shutting down it won't be able to to relaunch them and talk to the CMS). Reimporting the metadata should have fixed that, I think.

I'm about 44% through. Hopefully, this is it. If not, I'll be back. Thanks, Richard.

Finished reimporting metatdata, refreshed DIM, but NO ticks for metadata. Any ideas?

I reloaded the thumbnails in DIM, and now I can see the content in the Content Library list. But there are still NO ticks for metadata in DIM. I have not yet tried to load anything.

Even though I loaded my entire library through DIM, several products (over a third of 5,000+) still have black and white thumbnails and the Daz Connect logo, signifying that they are not yet available in the Content Library for usage, (that is, I HAVE TO LOAD THEM VIA DAZ CONNECT). Why is this?  I will basically have two copies of the product on my hard drive. Although previously I did this without question, now I'd like to sort things out properly. Who knows about these things?

Reimpoprting metadata in DS wouldn't affect DIM. Exactly which version of DS is this?

The latest available on my DIM page. 4.9xx

To clarify, I reimported metadata in DIM as well.

    But which 4.9 - Help>About DAZ Studio...?

4.9.2.70 (thanks for telling me where to find it).

Then I think you need to opena  support ticket - it's possible that something has corrupted the database and while you can simply delete and start over entirely that's a lot of fiddle, support may be able to indentify the issue and perhaps fix it.

Thank you, Richard, for your efforts. I shall do as you have suggested. Have a pleasant day/evening.
