    Scavenger, Thanks..

There's a lot of "old" knowledge that is too often lost these days. I was fortunate to have worked for a while in my youth for a jeweler who was also a goldsmith.. Learned a lot...

I was in the SCA in my younger days, but my focus was on fencing styles, not so much money exchange :D

I am starting up agin after surviving brain cancer and want to use dollar coins as much as possible - this set just feeds that urge.

And Hello Kitty Hakama. And a Tinkerbell kilt if I can find fabric.

Just found this thread and thought "Great, this looks like exactly what I need right now!!" Clicked the link, pleased to see in the sale but the big "purchased" button wouldn't put it in my cart (I actually pushed it twice before registering I already had the product too!!)
  • Here's a quickie with the money-lender exchanging the fantasy coinage. (I know I shouldn't have copper, silver and gold on the same scale - I just wanted to use more of them cheeky )

"That moment when you get back from plundering a hard-fought dungeon, only to find the 'ancient coins' aren't worth as much as you'd hoped laugh "

(Not a commentary on the value of the products themselves, which are both awesome yes )

Looking back, I think I scaled the Fantasy Coinage too large - shoulda made them about 50% that size.

They are asily down-scalable, that's no problem at all. At least, this way they look good "in large".

They're easily scalable - I guess I didn't bother in this render - the coin-stack (from moneylender) which I loaded independently needed scaling to 50% to match the one that loaded with the preset-scene.

Edit: Just did a quick test of coins in G2F's hand - 50% is about right, but could be bigger or smaller depending on how much you want it to be worth wink.  Biggest problem is fine-tuning their position as the translate-slider is too sensitive for their size - can be set in parameters to move more slowly.

They aren't "too large", they're Second Edition scale. :P

well, I can see uses for a massive pile of coins :)

Instances. Lots of them placed over a lup of some kind. Not fast, but the look is amazing.

Thanks - if my next (makes three years clear) MRI come back clean I hope to go to Duswney World or Kyoto to celebrate not being dead yet.

Speaking of wjich, I'm building a virtual WDW:MK With really odd set pieces - the big castle is sci-fi stuff. Anyone got suggestions for further silliness?

And these coins will be there.. I just gotta do the texture/bump/normals, etc.

(Just kidding, awesome and cute idea. ;)

Will...in my set of metals for 3DL, that's up at ShareCG, there's an electrum...now to figure out an Iray preset.
