VDB REALTIME
Real-time smoke and fire for Daz Studio

VDBs in Daz are frozen on a single frame. VDB Realtime puts the whole sequence on a slider, so you can scrub through it live in the Iray viewport and stop wherever it looks right.

Same explosion, one dial: ignition, fireball, mushroom cloud, drifting smoke. Density and fire intensity sit on their own sliders, so you can shoot the same scene twice and change the effect between panels. Whatever you leave it on is exactly what renders. There's no baking step.

THREE WAYS TO USE IT

Preset Smoke & Fire
Double-click an effect and scrub. A library of smoke and fire sequences, each running between 45 and 250 frames.

Realtime Viewer
Point it at any folder of numbered .vdb files, ours or your own, and scrub it the same way.

VDB Editor
Reopen density and fire on any volume in your scene, at any time, without starting over. It works on static single-frame VDBs from other vendors too, as long as they use the standard Daz VDB shader. A Reset button puts everything back where it started.

WORKS WITH YOUR OWN VDBS

The Realtime Viewer reads any folder of .vdb files with frame numbers in their names, whatever made them. Most major 3D applications export OpenVDB sequences, including Houdini, embergen, Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya and 3ds Max.
