The beautiful ‘Ohi’a Lehua trees of Hawaii, have a legend of love, jealousy and eternity. So the story goes... ʻŌhiÊ»a and Lehua were two young lovers. The volcano goddess Pele fell in love with the handsome ʻŌhiÊ»a and approached him, but he turned down her advances. In a fit of jealousy, Pele transformed ʻŌhiÊ»a into a tree. Lehua was devastated by this transformation. Out of pity, the other gods turned her into a flower and placed her upon the Ê»ÅhiÊ»a tree. Separating these united lovers is not encouraged; it is said that when a lehua flower is plucked from an Ê»ÅhiÊ»a tree, the sky fills with lovers' tears and it rains." ʻŌhiÊ»a for M5 is this legend brought to life in 3D!
