That looks quite similar. It has the heavier cloth, simple obi (belt), lots of fabric folds. Not so long furisode (sleeves) but still a great look. (I know nothing of kimonos, was googling various parts of them to learn some new words.) :)

Autofit alone likely wouldn't work "as is" for the sleeves, you most certainly would need to edit the weight maps afterwards.

It's too bad it's not available.

yomiuri has shared a couple of freebies modeled after traditionnal japanese clothes. They all require a simulation to drape correctly and afair, no kimono, but one of them could still get you closer to what you want (you'll need a free account to download them):

I tried searching the Daz store and at Rendo by 'Furisode' and 'Kimono' and I also couldn't find that particular fancy knot. Yet I still think I have seen it somewhere.

Can anyone think of another word that might be searchable? Or be a better search function for Rendo? I still can't crack their code for good searching. Kimono came up with a page of females, as well of outfits. But Sickleyield & Fuseling's Furisode, either G1 or G2 are still the nicest. Just not dForce and don't have that lovely knot bow.

well.. i came to this thread because the text in the promo wasn't clear enough for me... "rigged sleeves and dForce cloth" could mean pretty much anything from "works well without dforce thanks to the rigging but the draping is nicer if you use dforce" (as some products state) to "forget it without dforce it won't work at all and will be stiff as a board, the rigging of the sleeves is just to start the simulation from an accurate place"...

and reading this thread i still don't know what i'm supposed to think. because this product NOT needing dforce would actually have been for me THE reason to buy it: my gcard doesn't do dforce, and i'm so desperate to find Asian traditional robe-like clothing for G8M (also G3M), be it Chinese or Japanese style. the only outfit i have is the old Furisode Genesis, and this is exactly the kind of outfit that will never work well with any other generation even with the best converter...

offtopic: there is a serious lack of Korean traditional outfits (male), the kind you can see in dramas, like stuff from the Joseon period. with all the hats.

Because the obi should never, ever bend. The upper panel, also, apparently does not continue down, and in fact most panels aren't even marked on the kimono. Also, the collar panel is also totally missing.
As for the genesis 8 one, that is the one I critiqued above.

No one is "usurping you" by expressing a shared interest and desire to help make a good product. Way to make an additional offer to help into thread drama. It's weird that you would take an additional offer, to help make something we all way, as a threat to exclude you. There is no reason why only -1- person could be a reference, when in fact the topic of kitsuke is so diverse that it would in fact benefit to have several knowledgable people helping.
The only objective  I have is to help get a good quality and accurate product.

Do these parts if a Japanese kimono confuse you: Obiage, makura, juban, haneri, datejime, and obidome? If so, I can help! If someone wants to make one, and wants someone to consult on how real Japanese kimono look, are worn, and particular styles, accessories for the kimono, and symbolism I CAN HELP.
Please contact me for help if you are making a kimono model. Almost all kimono models I have seen have details VERY wrong.

The Furisode products by Sickleyield look pretty authentic to me (I'm no expert)

They don't autofit but they dForce really well.

dForce Kimono Outfit doesn't look too bad either, even if the fabric doesn't seem quite right.

There is also a male version.

It's no secret that Furisode works great with dForce!
