What happens? Do they not load, not fit, something else?
Victoriaguess im doing something wrong because i click on victoria and all th clothes i have will not work any ideas please
Panties and ThighsIt seems to me that we should not be required to learn modelling skills, external software and the complexities of rigging just to get a purchased item of clothing to look like the item it is supposed to be. OK, one might say that clothing converted from previous generations of figures can't be expected to be perfect but I'd respond with two points: (a) I didn't expect autofit to deal with the conversion, I actually bought products from this store which claim to handle the conversion properly. And (b) This particular issue is not entirely restricted to converted clothing. There are plenty of examples of G3F shorts, etc. which display the same distortions.
Granted, the SickleYield G3F templates are mainly for dresses and tops - not for pants - so I'm not criticising the product. Wear Them All has this statement on the product page:
All clones were made to be the exact projections of legacy figure shapes and can be used with all existing projection templates for Genesis 3 Female to fit every piece of conforming clothing from pants and shirts to footwear and headwear and even hair, as well as any full body clothing in DAZ Studio.
By the way, I checked those panties on V4 and they do not distort in the way they do when converted to G3F.
In all other respects, I'm very pleased with the conversions using these two products. I was just hoping that someone with a better understanding of the technology might have some ideas on how to fix the pants. Perhaps it is not the conversion but a limitation of the G3F figure? Yet I have panties from Out of Touch which, while they stretch a little, do not display that kind of distortion.
Ideally, Valzheimer might be able to figure out a workaround and issue an update? One can only hope.
Hi, yes distortions happen because previous generation clothes was intended for generation they were created for and they lack in JCMs whereas geometry of new/G3 clothes is created from beginning to fit G3 geometry (back cross-fit can also give distortions because geometries missmatch). Just as shoes would never fit 100% perfectly same may happen with other things like fitting the crotch, as there isn't other template to use to fix that other then using either Full Body or Pants.
However workaround I'd suggest is the same I suggested under the Read Me for shoes - using Generic type of Smoothing (instead of Base Shape Matching) and in this case also using Weight parameter higher (I got best results with pushing it from 0.5 to 0.7). Not all clothes will act the same so it's on you to discover what gives you the best results, but here's one example of working with shorts and panties fitted from Victoria 4 to Genesis 3 Females. I also always convert older items to SubD (1, 2 or 3 value) to get higher resolution.
Hope that helps :)

Thank you for this. I ended up getting poke through using those same briefs so I ended up having to apply a very small push modifier at .05 and they look great. :D
VictoriaVictoria 4.2 is the final version of Victoria 4. As such all the stuff labeled Victoria 4 will work on her.
VictoriaI need help please I have bought a lot of items for victoria 4 and also bought victoria pro pack which i thought had victoria 4 but is 4.2 where can I find just victoria 4
or Genesis 4 female that all my victoria products will fit on
Creating morphs/figures for distribution/saleThanks.
How do I take things to the next stage, then? Are the individual characters like Bethany, Stephanie and Josie all 'originals' or variants of Victoria?
How to make Connect installed content show in Content library tabI downloaded Aiko 3.0, Victoria 3.0 SAE, and several Morph INJ/REM files for them using DAZ Connect.
The big problem here is that those old morph sets work only if the morphs are installed to the same runtime location as the base figure — and the way Connect works, every single product is essentially in a runtime of its own, so the script files that load the morph data into the figure can't find any of their data. DAZ has said a fix is in the works, but until then the only way to make those old figures and morphs work is to install using DIM or manually.
Considering how many problems like this we've seen recently, I really have to wonder about the design thinking that went on in the development of Connect — there are so many things that are either horribly bugged (for some people) or totally incompatible with the way older DAZ products work. Was Connect pushed out the door before it was ready, or were these things just not considered?
Twin tweens for Genesis 3My (limited) understanding is that Victoria clones sell the best but also that Daz isn't interested in more of them at the moment (not sure on characters as a whole, but you seem to have some interest here. I'd concentrate on that and see how it goes before actually worrying about what to do next.
Or start a billion things if you prefer working that way.
New to Victoria 4.2Make sure you only have 1 runtime with a "Runtime:Libraries:!DAZ:Victoria 4" folder.
Ok. will check. thanks guys.
How to make Connect installed content show in Content library tabI downloaded Aiko 3.0, Victoria 3.0 SAE, and several Morph INJ/REM files for them using DAZ Connect. The problem I am having is that the INJ?REM files won't show in Smart Content. On my older computer, I still run 4.8, and that one will continue to do so. As those same files were downloaded using the DIM, a path is mapped out to include them in My DAZ 3D Library. This lets me use the INJ/REM files from the Pose folder. What I do not understand about DAZ Connect is that there is no Content Library folder to allow use of product features that come with the products. It only installs to Smart Content, and as I read above this post, those files cannot be accessed in Smart Content. So I cannot inject any morphs for the two figures to allow the creation of my characters. I also downloaded similar INJ/REM files for Victoria 4.2, and Michael 4; although the base figures had to be downloaded and installed using the DIM, since they are not available through DAZ Connect. Those INJ/REM files which were downloaded through DAZ Connect are not accessible either.
I like DAZ Connect alright except for the fact that it does not make my products fully usable; especially the Millennium Figures. This tells me that DAZ Connect is not a fully functional option as it stands at this time. Therefore it is either uninstall those files I cannot fully use, and then use the DIM to get them into a library that is fully usable, or do a lot of manual work to place the content into a fully functioning library so I can access the INJ/REM files. That's the rum me the wrong way thing about DAZ Connect; the fact that it is incomplete at this time, and DAZ 3D has chosen to release it to the general customer as it now stands. I thought the Beta Test version was supposed to be used to find and address such issues before it was released! All this is doinf as far as I am concerned is creating a lot of headaches for we the loyal users of DAZ Studio. If I did not have my other machine running 4.8, I'd be up the creek without a paddle. As it is at this time my plans for my new computer are being put on hold as far as DAZ Studio is concerned.
Is there any way to get DAZ to fix this ASAP? If not, I will be uninstalling several products in favor of using the DIM!
whats causing my render so longi been sitting at over an hour with my render wiht i13 laundry mat and four characters and hdri on with victoria arribella amadalia and a g3 female running with a 980 ti running what would cause it to take over an hour to render at 7 percent
Do you ever take a trip down memory lane....Every now and then I also do a reverse time view of my purchases -- and see Michael 1 as the very first model I bought waaaay back on March 12, 2001! Wow. I'm coming up on my 15-year aniversary as a Daz customer. That's pretty amazing.
I think it would be cool to get a coupon for xx% off based on every five years you've been a loyal customer. You know, 5% for 5 years, 10% for 10 years, %15 for 15 years, and so on, but just on the 5-year mark.
And I also go back and work with those old figures sometimes. And lately, because I'm planning some comic book projects to be done in Poser (du to Poser 11's geometric edge preview feature), I've started digging out all of my Victoria 4 content (and buying more)... and also versions 3 of Victoria and Michael. Those were good models and I have a LOT of stuff for them. And they still work very well. For this project, I have made sure all of my V2 and M2 content is loaded in my Runtime, but I don't think I'll go back that far. I think version 3 is as far back as I'll go. With one exception -- I'm using the P4 Male as a background character. In b&w at a distance, he still works very well.
Also, I do occassionally go through my R'osity gallery and look at my old work. It's fun to look at, and some of it still holds up quite nicely. And some... not so much. But it's still fun to look at and "remember when."
Do you ever take a trip down memory lane....Yep. Sometimes I think I'd gladly exchange all the new tech for a time when this hobby wasn't so focused on "He said/SHe Said" style arguments about which software/figure/company/renderer/download system/store/forum/plug in is somehow superior to some other.
Then I remember that when I started everyone was taking positions on Poser 4 vs. Poser Pro, and arguing about the relative merits of Victoria 3 vs. Posette vs. Judy/Jesse, etc., and I realize that I just didn't pay as much attention back then because I was too caught up in the newness of it all. :)
Victoria 4.2 to Victoria 3 how does that work? Can anyone tell me how I can DzCreateExPFiles-V4V3.command
Do I want Poser or DAZ Studio, and what figure? Now that I am home and not typing on my phone, I'll add a little more.
As I said before with dial spinning, once you develop a talent, you really only need the base characters: Michael and Victoria, plus the morph packages for each. If you want the greatest versatility, get both Genesis 1 (M5/V5) and Genesis 2 (M6/V6).
Genesis 1: can use V4/M4 textures and eyes. Needs a converter to use G2 textures.
Genesis 2: can use Genesis 1 textures but not eyes. Needs a converter to use V4/M4 textures.
Both G1/G2 have growing up morphs (to create adult to age 5) and aging morphs.
These pictures are some examples of characters I have created, each one morphed from the original base.
Do I want Poser or DAZ Studio, and what figure? Here are my thoughts (I use DAZ Studio) reguarding a figure: Genesis 2 is very versital, looks great in poses, has asymmetrical morphing in face and body for realism, can use Genesis textures, and with converters, can use V4/M4 Textures as well. There are ethnic characters, but if you become adept at dial spinning, you can pretty much create any face and body you want with just Michael and Victoria 6, then texture them with any skin and eyes that are comparable. Don't worry about hair or clothes if you are going to draw your own. Genesis 3 adds some more realism to posing and expression, but is not comparable with any other generation's textures. Genesis 1 can use either male/ female items and those items can adjust easily to creature morphs. Creature Creator looks best with G2. G1 has a baby, but only has a diaper. I tried V4/M4 but wasn't happy with the results, except for the skeletons. Look at the pose converters and you can see examples of the different figures side by side in the same poses - that's a good way to compare.Bought V4 for Genesis 2 Female but can't apply V4 textures :(Hi fellow Posers,
Maybe some of you can assist me here. I bought this product in DAZ's store: http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female so that I could use my V4 textures on V6. From the Materials section of My DAZ 3D Library, I applied 'Set Victoria 4 UV' to V6 which turned her skin gray. I then went to my Pose section and tried to apply a V4 body MAT, but it wouldn't take. What am I doing wrong? I also cannot find the V4 Auto Clone or whatever it is to fit V4 clothing.
I also have DAZ's other product, V4 Legacy Shapes for G2 which seems to be working fine, but when I run the 'Conform to' command for clothing, the clothing gets all bunched up. What's the workaround?
Many thanks for your help in advance!
"Poser People" and scale in DS. What are the differences?I am not sure what you are refereing to? When a poser figure like Victoria 4 is loaded in to Daz Studio, DS will automatically translate the scale so that it loads at the correct size in DS. So if you load V4 and then load G3F, the two will be in proper scale to each other for real world scale. Daz Studio uses the metric system. If you move or rotate something my one unit, its one centemeter. The square grid on the DS floor in in meters (100cm = 1m)
Well, ive seen the description of poser people scale in some stores in reference to things like vehicles and buildings. Also, ive had this model that I bought here at DAZ some time ago, the UH60 Blackhawk Helicopter (which must have been discontinued because I cant find it in the store anymore) which is much larger in scale than v4, ive attached a comparison shot. Ive always assumed that it was because it was made originally for poser and therefore loaded in this poser people scale.
