How are you loading/applying Victoria 7?

LOL, I was smart last night. I went ahead and shopped/wrote down the items from stores through N to get a head start on shopping today.  Watching the Ryder Cup!  I got two years of PC+ membership yesterday (two orders) as I wasn't sure how long that would be in play. For $14 a year- think about that. $12 of products every month discounted, x 12 months is $144 dollars off a year. Wow.  

So what are you folks buying from the featured stores? Here's some I picked up:

Peng Hair   Great for many time periods, very contemporary look

Z Summer Romance Poses   Great variety, remember you're getting two poses together already set up- and great starting points for individual poses to tweak/ use alone too. Think outside the box. Example: That one where he's "airplaning" her on the stomach- a GREAT flip-it-over- going in the water pose (being thrown in!) 

Interstellar Officer-  one of the rare "sleek" looking sci-fi outfits- that doesn't have accentuation on the crotch with a piece plastered there (not a fan) The back is also great. Very family friendly.

Eliza-   you already know this is coming- love the brow thickness. If you haven't explored Godin for women, browse that store!

Divided Highway- been waiting for this to go on sale as I didn't need it immediately. I love the bridge underpass section!  I'm putting trees in front of the concrete walls in the background. Add more vegetation to provide interest, etc.

JP Sport Convertible-  a contemporary car to put on those highways- and the white car looks like my white 350Z convertible!  Check out Russo's store for more cars- but read the description.I think some are low poly, some aren't. (and some doors may open and some not, can't remember.)

Coders Haven-  obvious choice for a computer setup that has some extra goodies / common sense things that are around computer stations. You can Photoshop out the yellow sticky note messages and add your own for humor or make it relevant for your scene.

Hospital Emergency-  a must for every city- practical. 

Biker Bandit-  A Daz Original (and if you got that orange banner, you get additional discount) and the textures    Love the sleek look and flat footed boots. 

Plaster PBR-   make your own walls. This is the vendor I used for the Mega Grass/Stone wall example. Picked up most of the images. The tree bark, leaves, stone- good stuff!

and as I mentioned, Fangtastic to make quick, easy changes to teeth to get away from square teeth. (Linked to bundle.)

I was very eager to start using Victoria 7 after the long time I've tinkered around with the Genesis 3 Base Model, but soon I've noticed some problems with the reflection/roughness map of Vicki. I couldn't explain first until I deleted all surfaces and build it up setting one map after another. I've redownloaded Vicki and unpacked and placed all parts of her manually to make sure there was no bug while installing in the Smart Content System or with DIM Installer, but without any change. Finally I've replaced the torso and the leg reflection map with Jeanne's (slightly modified) and now it worked.

The thing is, I've seen many Victoria 7 renderings which doesn't have the problem I get so, is there anyone out there who can help me out here?

Myrna Textures for Myrna Outfit because Shox-Design's textures are the bomb! She has saved many an outfit.

Urban Survivors G3M&F because Luthbel makes the most realistic male clothing I've used; (now if I could get him to add some morphs and use Shox-Design to do add-on textures...)!

Kaia for Kalea 7 because her morph looked so real and cute, and she was inexpensive.

And the forementioned Genesis 3 UVs for Genesis 2 Female(s) so my G3F characters can wear all the G2F heels; (if only CaymanStudios would do a G3F UV for V4 I'd be set).

 I looked at the Skin Materials that come with Victoria 7 and noticed there´s a "legacy" skin material for Iray so thats probably the old one ? and then there´s a normal "Iray Material" Is that the new one ? Or is it the other way around .. I´m confused

If you purchased e.g. Victoria 7 within the past 30 days you could return it and but the Pro Bundle.  If it's been more than 30 days you could submit a ticket to Sales Support and see if they would arrange something for you.

New Acquisition render. This one is the Restricted Zone set which is this week's PC+ freebie. I coupled it with the Urban Street set that was also a PC+ freebie a couple months ago.

The boots are from the "SciFi Bunny for Genesis" outfit which is a freebie right now with the Genesis Scifi Starter Bundle. The outfit is the Victoria 4.2 Body suit which I picked up for super cheap with a $4 Victoria 4 bundle. The sunglasses are a freebie from ShareCG.com. The hair is Desideria Hair which came with the Lilith 6 Pro Bungle that I managed to score for $17. I also layered on Aldora Hair which came free with Genesis Starter Essentials. The gun is from the XO SWAT Weapons Unit set which I picked up for about $1 during a "stacking" sale. 

Hello, Dazizens. This is my first time using this hair, and I wanted to use it without the hat. I did some minor morphing adjustments, but when I did a once-over I discovered scalp poke-through in the crown. The hair has no TopFull morph or HeadSize morph, and I'm befuddled as to how to fix it, except to maybe add 3Dream's hair cap. Any ideas, suggestions?

Male Michael 3 and Victoria models, Genesis Nano suits (re-textured in Bryce) The Alien character is a modified genesis 2 male modified using the creature creator set, alien clothes are a mix of Voyager pants and boots and lumber jack vest. The background ship is a Daz product "Vanguard"

old True Space 4.2: These were created models and props; The two other background ships, far wall with hexagon shape cut, optic head gear worn by male character, handcuffs worn by the alien, wheeled cart in background.

Bryce 7 Pro: the scene was assembled re-textured and rendered in Bryce with depth of field.

Most of the things that can't be installed using Connec t are either 4th generation products (Victoria 4/Michael 4) or scripts.

In DIM there is a filter for "Connect Installed".

Connect should automatically only install Poser-format files if they are needed in DS.

DIM-installed content should show up in Content Library pane > Products even if it doesn't have metadata to put it in the Smart Content pane.

Where did you GET those outfits?

Well, let's see… everyone's outfits are basically the recent Genesis 3 Super Bodysuits; the Captain and Uncle are textured from "Super Bodysuit Superhero Textures", with the map edited to remove the shield from the red suit (the lighning bolt is an Iray decal in all cases).  The guys' boots are from "Fantasy Friar Outfit for Genesis 3 Male(s)" retextured with a yellow/leather cobbled out of ghod remembers what.  Their sashes are from "Fantasy Prince for Genesis 3 Male" and their bracers are from "Dark Whisper for Genesis 3 Male(s)".  Junior's suit is the red suit, recolored in Gimp.  Mary's boots  are also from the Super Bodysuit, her skirt from the bodysuit "addon pack".  I copied the red texture from the guys.  Her sash took some digging: it's from Victoria 4's good old 'Courageous' outfit!

I cannot recall where I got the cape - I think it is terrymcg's from sharecg.  It was easier to parent it to the figures; it has plenty of movement morphs of its own.  Of course, retextured for Iray.

That's certainly a noticeable efect, even to colour-blind me. I don't see such a pronounced diffrence if I load two copies of Victoria 7 HD and apply the face material to one of them, though that may be my colour vision and the lighting used (the default HDR lighting) - are you sure your copy of the base Victoria 7 (from which the make up preset comes) is current? I would suspect it is from before the bug fix that changed the way the SSS scattering colour worked - my copies are up-to-date, so I don't get the anomaly.

In the left render I applied one of her Make Up Options for Iray called "Victoria 7 Face 05 MAT"

I have the Generation 3 and 4 clones for Genesis. Do you think I could make triax Genesis clothing that actually conforms to a CR2 Victoria 4?

I may just have to experiment. As easy as it is to convert the way I mentioned earlier... this would be a time saver!

Hi all,

I'm looking to update my existing female characters over to G3F en toto (I've been doing it piecemeal so far), and I'm running into an issue with one specific custom character, in that she is a 50% dial-up of Silver's Nyssa character morph.

I can replicate every body dial I have on her G2F version exactly, and she still doesn't come out right - I need the Nyssa body/head/face shapes to get her where she needs to be.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find another of Silver's characters for G3F that replicates or mimics Nyssa.

Is there a transfer utility that would do it, or could someone recommend a particularly similar character that could be adapted?

I have other characters that are straight Victoria 6 dial-ins, and I can replicate them in to Victoria 7 easily enough. But this one's stumping me, and it's frustrating as all get-out, since the Nyssa character adds so much to this one.

Theres also no mention of "anatomical elements". I'm curious as to what happens when the extra detailed displacement of the torso meets this area - does it just suddenly all go flat?

I understand from this thread that seams may be an issue. Someone probably can clarify.
