I'm wondering if all the work on clones has something to do with V8/Genesis 4/8/whatever . . .

If all previous clothes fit, all previous shapes can be transferred over, and all previous poses work, then I'm all aboard from the beginning! (Or is that just a tiny bit too much to ask? :))

thats what I've been saying, retarded folks like me get confussed when the genesis and the victoria don't match  just sayin!!  now back to the regularly scheduled programs :D thanks

If they did bring numbering up to the same those used for Victoria etc it would save confusion on whether someone is talking about a Generation 4 or Genesis 4 figure and potentially a Victoria 5 etc  or Genesis 5 figure. Also if at some point in the future they wanted to avoid the number 13, they could just use something else for everything. :)

PS. I just checked and I own 71 Valandar items. So I guess I'm slackin'.

Probably because of the whole "G3" for Genesis 3 being mistaken for G3 Generation 3 (as in V3, M3 etc).  

So we skip 4,5,6,7? It makes more sense for Genesis 8 to be the basis for Victoria 8, etc. The previous way was too confusing.

 

And G4, that's doubly confusing. Generation 4, Girl 4, Genesis 4.

I spent some $$$ on Lydia this morning. I don't need any more G3Fs, I really don't. But she's one of the most beautiful I've seen. I'm doing some renders on this thread. Will post my best here, still playing with her and getting used to her. She's really is a knockout. 

My new rule for G3F is that if I think I could make a sort-of okay equivalent to the skin in Skin Builder 3, and do something similar to the morph by spinning dials or firing up Facegen, I won't buy it. The skin here is mind-blowingly good here, so she's sitting in my cart, awaiting the final round of agonizing.

LOL, my rules come and quickly go. I think that's called "total lack of self restraint."  And in your case, "More talent." You know how to use those tools!

Wait, Genesis3 is compatible wit Carrara? It always crashes when I've tried to load a G3 model. G, G2 and Victoria/Michael 5 have worked okay.
I still can't decide which I want to stick with and start building a library. I feel like the knowledge of different character series is kinda like that of guitars, or drums, where you gain an understanding of the different types of wood and such, and the different tones they provide, etc.  As you use the different DAZ characters, it seems you gain an understanding of what each generation brings to the table.
Anyway, I'm rambling :p.

well, I was going to try to do something like the lace skirt up top, however, that hongyu is not G3F compliant. What a piece of work, lol.    hongyu, you got to make sure the thing fits G3F before the item leaves the modeling program, not after you start rigging it for G3F  .

I forgot how broken hongyu thing is. I need to just uninstall all the crap that does not work and the zen desk insists there is nothing wrong with it, just to save me the grief of seeing it.

I hope the next iteration of Genesis is a hell of a lot better with auto follow than this, and PAs get what they need to actually make stuff work, the first time.

I just got an email advertising a new HD character for V7, named Lydia.  As with so many other character promos I've seen, none of her promo renders show her makeup options.

It's been a long time coming, but it sure is good to see one of your excellent characters for Genesis 3 Females. Thanks, I needed that. She looks great!

I seriously doubt that they are jumping from Genesis 3 to Genesis 8.....    

I think it would make sense to sync up the number in Genesis 8 with Victoria/Michael 8.

• Microsoft Windows jumped from 8 to 10.
• The second generation Xbox skipped it from calling it Xbox 2. Naming it Xbox "3"60 was a smart move having a three in there because Xbox 2 vs Playstation 3 would make the Playstation seem newer. 

Companies don't always name their products in linear order and skip numbers when it makes sense.
