CB Arceli HD for Genesis 9
seems also to be somehow broken :(
at least the finger joints are if you bend them more than a few degrees
That sounds like an issue with joint adjustments. Which verrion of Daz Studio are you using?
and also a file is missing
Which file?
/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 9/Base/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Body/body_bs_NailsLengthSquare.dsf
is missing
and i m using 4.21
on the joints
it s simple to see if you just take generic gen 9 slightly bend the fingers of one hand and then dial in the Arceli body, you can see how the joints are getting missaligned
or create and new arceli figure and bend fingers
1st joint is ok, 2nd and 3rd are completly broken
As stated above, the mising morph is almost certainly from the body morphss et that is due early next week - it may well be marked asa required product internally, but even if it is with no refreant the note will not show.
I would expect the joint changes to be tied to the basic shape slider, though i suppose if there was also a link to the missing morphs that might cause it. Still, it does sound like a bug so I think it is worth reporting.
Whose characters for G9 you're expecting? The only thing I'll really need G9 for is extreme closeup realistic portraits because the eyes are so much better (although they often need tweaking.) Mousso is my go to PA for combined beauty & realism and I'm starting to like some of Colm Jackson's characters. I like Addy's girls too but they're not quite as realistic though beautiful and I have all their G8's and G3s. I think I'm going to teach myself how to do makeup because that's the biggest issue I'm having with G9 (beside the lack of morphs right now.)
I'm really sad Rarestone and Emma & Jordy aren't here with their great morph packs! I really have everything I need from toon to realism in previous generations and I do a lot of postwork anyway. I'm just hoping for good morph packs and clothing clones, pose & hair converters. I might even figure out how to make my own skin textures. I started doing that with V4, then G3, G8 and by the time I was motivated to finish one, a new Genesis appeared lol. I'm kind of enjoying being creative with G9 with so few assets instead of being lazy and combining a bunch of PA morphs. I was really hoping for a Genesis animal with morphs where we can create our own animals, so I really hope that happens and it's not just for PAs.
I'm not usually a fan of DAZ core characters, but if others are as good as V9, I will probably get a few. I really hope hair makers continue to support G8, because I'm definitely a hair collector, especially from Lindsay & Westfield. I doubt I will be buying much clothes for G9 though if they're not backward compatible. I think the only need for G9 is doing realistic extreme closeup portraits, that's where you can really see the difference. And that's what I enjoy doing the most, though it's hard to make money from it!

Here you go. New update package with that morph added back in.

You are the person! I'll check it out in the morning after I finish rendering. It'll be interesting how that fix works with my hastily constructed one...
Hi can someone help me with zbrush to daz studioWhat options are you choosing for send to/send back? If the figure is not zeroed (if it has a pose or shape applied) are you leaving it in that state when you send the morph back?
Hi can someone help me with zbrush to daz studioHi when i morph my character the teeth and head keep morphing how can I stop that from happening it happens when I go into daz studio from zbrush! I select my character from daz studio and then click on send to zbrush i morph the torso and arms and then click on go x but when I move the morph slider i just created the teeth and head morph too can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong ty so much!
Victoria 9 - what a beautyAfter I posted, I did a google search regarding "eyelid thickness" and it seems, that real humans' lids are thicker than I thought. I take back what I wrote but I think I will make a thin morph nonetheless ;-)

There is a freebie head morph by AOBB for Genesis 9 that looks great.
Check out the thread to see images, Im on my laptop so I don't have it available to upload.
AOBB manages to zbrush nicely and that guy looks brushed quite a bit. And nice. But not enough to make me start using G9
Create morphs for Daz with Forger or Nomad Sculpt (IOS) is it possible?Has anyone done this in Nomad successfully lately? I tried following the directions in the forum link shared, and I'm getting a Geometry does not match error. I'm using the latest version of DS and I tried both G8 and G9. I exported both figures at the base resolutions and deleted the eyelashes for G8. I imported into Nomad with Keep Topology checked, made no changes, and then exported it as an obj. I just get errors when I brought it back into Daz.
I have no issues doing the same in Blender. I was able to successfully import both figures into Blender, make a small change, and export back into DS with no errors and made my morph. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong in Nomad. Would like to know if anyone has successfully made any morphs inside Nomad and brought them back into DS.

Some ZBrush crimes combined with Victoria's asymmetry morphs and Nathy's Fantasy Shaping. You can actually change G9's face a lot with the asymmetry morphs just by dialing them up to a high strength in equal proportions.
The face on the stylized Vicky is mostly her morph at 100%, the feminine face at 100%, and then the masculine morph at something like 20% (at that level it just balances the features out).
For some reason I was always really nervous about sculpting on G8/8.1 and now I'm just ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
Wow....love these!
Questions about VYK Sydney for Genesis 9billyben_0077a25354 said:
I have a couple of questions about VYK Sydney. First does she come with anatomical elements materials and second did anyone find a workaround for the missing morphs because DAZ has not released the head and body morph packs yet.
First, according to her store's page, no anatomical elements maps are included. Second, I make my own morphs for G9 and it's fun!

This Genesis Release is realy something...
The missing toe joint on Genesis modelsRedSoul said:
I know this might be a weird thing for some, but with each generation of Genesis models striving for more realism than the last, I started wondering why their toes only have two joints. The little toes on the human foot have three joints, but while I currently don't have Genesis 9, someone else who does checked and confirmed that it still only has two joints. This lack of a joint can make replicating certain foot poses difficult if not impossible to recreate, and morph add-ons that do try to replicate the third joint being bent run into the issue of not being able to bend back the other way, since that bend is baked into the morph.
I was hoping that Genesis 9 would finally add this, but I guess not...You're right, the human toes do have three phalanges and the Daz toes only have two.

The missing toe joint on Genesis modelsYes, I do occasional beach or surf render and feet in Genesis (and earlier Mikes & Vickys) do look a bit odd. Be nice if they had a morph to adjust width of foot. Once I get to looking at them, they remind me of wide duck feet.
Maybe an enterprising PA will make a morph product for G9. ; )
Victoria 9 HD Pre Purchase Disappointment IssuesGenesis 9 has 4 nice base skins each for male and female. However, the head morphs to match the icons in the materials section are missing. Maybe they will come in a morph pack later.
Expressions for Genesis 9?beregar said:

They do work on the base G9, but they are not like the standard expressions that we usually get. They move eyes as well as the face, which I don't really care for. Normally with most new generations, they release an expressions pack, a head morph pack and a body morph pack. We haven't seen those yet and I have NO idea when we will. The base is pretty useless without them, as is most of the stuff in the store for G9 so far. A lot of it relies on those missing morphs. Daz has been totally bass ackwards on this whole release.
The head and body morphs should come out next week according to Richard. No idea if there will be an expression pack though.
If I remember it rightly I bought head and body morphs and an expression set almost as soon as each generation was released. I would like to have been able to do the same for Genesis 9.

I plan to switch to Genesis 9 and convert my G8.1 characters once official morphs packs will be released. Since my characters are based on G8 characters (Gia 8, Rynne 8, Lucas 8, etc...), I'm pretty sure their G9 versions will be completely different, so I won't have choice that create morphs in Blender based on their previous apperance.
There are so many improvements in Genesis 9 (especially for expressions and poses) that'll be a pitty to not use them :)
Even with character conversion, the UV's and materials are different, so how would you get around that? You'd likely have to find a different skin altogether for them. Using the UV transfer tool to go from V7 to the base G8 UV is one thing...they aren't all that different...but the difference between G8 to 8.1 to 9 are B.I.G.
As long as you have the UVs for both, DAZ has a map transfer function that is pretty good. It transferred Joe Quick's custom UVs to G8.1 ones with pretty good accuracy.
Most of this stuff can be done, it just takes trial and error and experimenting.
