I've been busy but I did have a chance to play with the new Victoria 8. I really like her. Here is my first render using her with Voss Hair and Lingerie Robe Set. I didn't do any messing around with the settings so this is a straight up render with just a little bit of post in Gimp. I love her hand and feet and how detailed the neck area is. I think whoever modeled her did a stellar job. I played around with the new template for the expressions in Power Pose and I have to say that I like how it works. It did a great job and this is the best expression I've ever managed to get on my own. The rigging on her face is fantastic.
Linwelly's GroveSo here is my first real render with a g8 figure, its https://www.daz3d.com/fwsa-elizabeth-hd-for-victoria-8, and I used the Epic godrays from ThePhilosopher https://www.daz3d.com/epic-props-godrays-volumetric-light-for-iray here which are ... pretty close to a guarantee for an epic render, so very awesome!
Amazing.
Are those weapons in her hands?
Morphs from G3 to G8We are in the process of converting all our original Genesis 3 morph resource kits to Genesis 8, including the hard to transfer bits like the eyes and lashes These work on Genesis 8 directly and are set up in separate folders in the same way as the G3 versions. The original Genesis 3 versions were merchant resources for Genesis 3 only, but we will be offering the Genesis 8 versions soon in the store as merchant resources with major discounts for those who already have the Genesis 3 versions.

Beauty mate @Thorne! Please make it an escalating discount where the percentage is multiplied the more you have (like the V8 orange banner Victoria Pro Bundle escalating discounts). I own ALL of your morph kits for G3F & M, and I do not relish the prospect of repurchasing them, even at a percentage.
I'll talk to marketing, sounds like a good idea :)
Victoria 8 Pro bundleI recently purchased the victoria Pro bundle pluas Victoria shapers. I have noted that while Voss Hair by AprilYSH is there, but the shapes does not wotk the tabs she show in hints are also missing. Finally the added shapes for Victoria 8 are not showing up anywhere. Anyone else having this problem or am I just unique.

Victoria 8 Launch This month? The posting on Facebook says the new genesis 8 figures are coming June 20th.. I assume it meant to say Victoria 8
Yeah, why is it genesis 8 and not genesis 4? OK, I saw some of the comments about this after I posted this. I'll include my own thoughts in another post.
Victoria 8"Does it means that Victoria 10/12 will look like a grandma ???"
No... not unless someone creates some aging /"hard years" morphs.
Genesis 8 FemaleGenesis 8 Female is the (free) base figure, so those items do not require you to own Victoria 8 only the base figure.
They missed out Genesis 4/5/6/7 to bring the "Genesis" number in line with the "Victoria" number (many people think they wanted to avoid the confusion of having a "Genesis 4" as well as a "Generation 4" - i.e. Victoria 4,. Michael 4, etc)
Genesis 8 FemaleI keep seeing items, saying that Genesis 8 Female required is it suppose to say Victoria 8?
Last Genesis was out was 3 how did we get to 8?
Daz Studio 4.9.4 Pro, General Release! There's a bug in relation to Victoria 8's y position when grabbing her hands or arms for direct movement.
i.e.
load Victoria 8 > click and drag either her hand or feet directly.
Notice how the entire figure translates say 20 points up or down (based on the height of the figure. I was able to get it jerk down if applied a negative height via the body morphs).
I also noticed this sort of behavior in Genesis 3 when applying any of the pose helpers. Such as say 'shoulder shrug'. If you were to apply any of these helpers and attempted to grab said affected area, you would experience an unintended jerk in positioning.
This bug is reproducible on the mac and pc versions.
Thanks.
Huh, this bug with DAZ's character again... Similar behavior - G2F Teen Josie 6 (and they didn't fix it)...
Victoria 8Can you share the Redz linkAfter testing Victoria 8 for a day, I have to conclude that there really isn't enough difference between her and Victoria 7 for V8 to be called V8. More like V7.3.
We gain HD expressions. Way cool. We gain geografted eyelashes. Okay. Why? We gain a base figure who is three inches taller than V6 and V7. Isn't 5'11" tall enough? We gain a figure with a masculine face and one hell of an ugly mouth. Well, I fought V7's ugly mouth, but I don't want to do it again. We gain a more primitive mesh that is even further removed from natural human topology than V7.
And I can't convert my custom V7 characters to V8 without major effort. A 22 year old V7 looks 40 in V8.
So, I dropped $40 on an experiment. It was money well spent, really. It told me to wait for Victoria 9. Hey, I bought a Hyundai in 1986! I'm 6'4". You do the math on that. I've spent more on less.
Where to start with untangling this. Oy! First, V8 is a definite step forward and more than worthy of it's own figure line. The bends are much better, muscles follow the pose shape better, skin texture improvement, anatomy improvment, the skin actually moves with the expressions, improved eyes, nails, and feet, etc.
Second, converting characters from V7 to V8 is suprisingly easy. Redz has a tutorial on how to do it and made a post on how to do it here on the forum - and it's pretty fast and painless.
Third, "masculine face and one hell of an ugly mouth" I totally disagree. I think she's quite lovely and a lot more realistic looking than some of the past Victorias which trend to have unnaturally large eyes and faces that are too artificial looking. We still have a ways to go to hit total photo-realism, of course, but V8 is definitely a step forward.
Really, Diva? I'm with Nathanomir on this one. I think there is a stiking resemblance between a certain Ms Versace and V8 at least before the cosmetic surgery (see attached pic). However, I accept that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Nevertheless, I think that the majority of people would agree that V8 has a significantly masculine face structure.
That reminds me I actually need to update that product for Genesis 8.
I hope you are updaing all your morphs. They are key for my characters.
Morphs from G3 to G8Now with my favorite cutifier in place I can mix some G3 into G8. Here's Victoria 8 with 30% Aiko 6 head morph added:
@Pretty3D SchoolHair for G8, please,...If you're comfortable with a few of the somewhat advanced features in Studio, you can also follow Sickleyield's tutorial for transferring clothing from G3 to G8; while hair is obviously not quite the same thing, the process works to preserve the bones and function in things like long ponytails if you want it to conform rather than parenting (if the shape you want to use is somewhat extreme, parenting may work better). I used the tutorial process on Fantasy Warrior Hair and Geneva Hair, and it worked just fine.
Note: if you try the tutorial, make sure you use an UNMORPHED G8F -- no Victoria 8, no other characters dialed in. Otherwise, it may lead to issues if you use the hair/clothing on shapes other than the ones you have dialed in.
Black Is Beautiful IIWhile I'm not surprised that the Victoria Pro Bundle lacks a black female again, I am surprised we actually did get a day one G8F black woman. I guess that's a step forward.
Well, it took two months last time before Kelly for V7 came out here, so that's progress of a sort. Adrienne G3F came out at Renderosity in between Victoria and Kelly. (And to be fair(ish), Michael 7 had not one but TWO day-of-release black men, with Dash in the pro bundle and Darren a PA product.)
By the by, Joana G8F has no makeup options. She's got a few lipstick options, but nothing more than that. Odd.
And, now, just for the heck of it, a bunch of people sitting around in a park. Featuring from left to right: B-Jay G2M (GenX to G3M), Miss-B G2F (to G3F), M3D Coen/Jalen shapes for G3M, Imari G3F, Adama G3M. It didn't actually turn out quite like I wanted, but it's not actively terrible, so.
There's something about the composition of that image that makes me think of The Last Supper, for some reason!
"Brace yourself, my dear wallet! There's always another Sale - and Glitches!"Maybe that is my problem with the V8 Pro bundle. Not the quantity of content included, but the type. I understand SciFi and Anime themed content for something like Aiko or Keiko. But it seems unusual for a Victoria figure.
Anyhow, also on the fence, with a 20% discount here.I really love Genesis 8!Love the technical improvements in Genesis 8. Had a little extra time this morning to play around with some of my new toys finally and this is what I came up with. THe facial expression was done in the new powerpose interface and the body pose is an adapted one from one of the Victoria 7 pose bundles. Also used were various glothing items from Genesis 3 ( adventure girl outfit, FM tank tops, and Jeanz) Added to that the Perrin Hair and the Morningstar Wings as other new toys. The rock prop was an older prop by Jack Tomalin that I tossed some Iray shaders on and the sky is just the base iray sky from default render settings with Stonemasons Iray Clouds to break it up a bit.
Very happy with the new figure. I cant wait for the male version!
Fantastic, moody render and I really do love those wings!
G3 skin on G8 - white lines at arms and legsOh, she indeed uses Victoria 7 UV. :( Did not see this, thank you for the hint.

Thanks so much for your comment Alex!!!! Glad you liked it!
You are most welcome. I had a play around with Victoria 8 yesterday. I'm not impressed by the eyelashes as supplied so your product has gone into next week's shopping list.
Cheers,
Alex.
Thank You!!!
