I was going to say the same and they dForce quite well for me (assuming you have the option/interest to do so). Or cleaner looking shaders could be applied for desired results.

I recently used the Moroccan Dreams attire with d-Force on Genesis 3 Male and both the robes and turban looked really good.

The Moroccan Dreams also has several texture expansions which look nice converted to Iray (assuming you are rendering Iray).

I know this thread is quite old but I've just run into this problem.

I've had Michael 4 since his creation and up till now he's worked fine but last night when I tried to load his morphs they are nowhere to be found, I only get some morphs in his  limbs and all his head morphs but none in his body.

You say that I should load M4 from the DAZ Studio directory, but why would M4's problems start now when he's been working fine up till last night, has DAZ put some kind of code on my computer recently that would cause this to happen?

Hoping someone can help with this 'cos if not I'm going to have to start using some other male figure not belonging to DAZ which would be rediculous.

You can adjust the download filters to eliminate programs you don't want, like Poser, for example (Ready to Download tab).

In the Filter box at the top right, you can type "Victoria 4" (case doesn't matter) and it will show all the items for V4, even the ones that are hidden.  Note that it searches the TITLE of the product, so unless the artist's initials are in the title (like SY for Sickleyield), you can't search for a particular artist.  You will need to try a few different searches: Victoria 4, V4, Michael 4, M4, etc. You can even search for "hair."  There doesn't appear to be a boolean search feature so you can't add more than one parameter.

You can do the same type of searches in your Product Library.

Also, keep in mind that morphs (the shape of the figures) can only be used within that generation.  There is a converter that works between Genesis, Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 (called Gen-X), but the author sadly passed away, and there is no product to bridge the gap to Genesis 8.  There is a free version which has some limitations in the forums, and there is another artist working on a new product, but there is no E.T.A.

The textures, i.e., skins can be exchanged between the characters as such:

Victoria 4 / Michael 4 can be worn by Genesis.

Genesis 2 requires a conversion to wear Genesis/M4/V4.

Genesis 3 also requires a conversion to wear any of the previous skins.

Genesis 8 can wear Genesis 3 skins but the eyes are different.  There are converters available to wear the previous skins.  Also, these older skins need to be converted to Iray as well.  

Keep in mind that investing in a generation takes some cash, especially to keep using older products in your inventory as the generations advance.  The PA's are no longer making products for V4/M4, Genesis, or Genesis 2.  If there is a standalone figure for G1, G2, G3, by all means, go ahead.  Grab up any monster or android - they are really cool.  

You can do well investing in Genesis 3 - there's lots of content for it.  There is nothing wrong with skipping a generation, either.  I invested heavily in Genesis 2, skipped Genesis 3, and am now investing in Genesis 8.  Also keep in mind that when the new generation is out, you can find the previous generation offered at great sale prices.

Investing in the Platinum Club is also smart, as you get a free product per week, plus 2 coupons per month.  There's LOTS of freebies, too.  Just sort by Price Low to High and snatch them up.  Do that frequently, as Daz3D will occasionally offer older mega bundles for free.  You can get great stuff in FastGrab for 70% off.  Also, Daz3D discounts STACK - an item will be on sale because a PA released a new product, and that older product can be in a group of items on sale, and buy two new items for an additional discount, pop a coupon, and you can get a $40 item for 5 bucks or less.  In September is the PA Sale going on right now (note that there is always the last day sale where everything previously offered is back on sale again - if you're gonna buy, that's the time to do it).  There's lots of great sales going on between Thanksgiving and New Year's, and in Spring there's March Madness.  Be sure to save your pennies for these as your wallet may be crying a bit before they are done. (There is a Dazaholics thread, so be warned about this hobby).

Note that when you see Platinum Club offered on sale, get it.  When your membership comes due, it will apply automatically, and you can take advantage of the good price regardless of when your membership is due.

I still go to content paradise. Its one of the few places to get Dzheng menswear and many old Michael 4 M4/M4 gay couples poses which aren't hosted at Rendo- I do think I own them all, but they convert pretty well to Gen8 and those pa's did a nice job on them. They just need a bit of tweaking and look good on G8 after conversion.

But for some reason muscle morphing doesn't seem to work in a natural way here. Sometimes im having a terrible result with broken deltoids and ugly bending. I also have this pack for Genesis 2 base male and female https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files/prod/20945/

And it's like the exact thing I want for Michael and Victoria 4 in order for them to work correctly. And problem solutions? I had an attempt in searching a specific Muscularity morphs(flexion) for this 2 actors, but alas,  no result.

Those Klingons are Victoria and Michael 4 , at one point P . D . Smith was talking about translating those morphs into the genesis platform . I don't know whether he ever did that or not . they are from the space people morph pack that I put up on share CG. As a side note it's interesting that both morphs will work on either figure so you get four Klingon morphs for the price of 2 not that I'm charging as it was a freebie

Yeah, those V4 and M4 ones on ShareCG were the ones I was thinking of, and in fact I grabbed them awhile back.  I want to put Klingon forehead bumps onto a G3M character though, and I was attempting to convert those over to G3M via.... I want to say GenX, but I'm totally a novice at trying to make that work, and went into it with a sort of broad-strokes, not-even-sure-if-I'm-doing-this-right-but-I'm wading-through-some-tutorial-page sort of way, and couldn't even get those particular morphs to show up for me.  oO

Very likely I was doing it wrong, but I'm not quite sure how to do it right, yet. :D

Anyway, ideally I want foreheard bumps similar to what Worf has.  Anyone know of ones for G2M or G3M like that? 

I'm guessing those Genesis 1 ones are probably easier to convert (via GenX or such) to G3M since Genesis 1 at least is more similar internally within the Daz system than V4 and M4 are to Genesis 3, but its 4am right now and I should probably try to fiddle with it when I'm more fresh for the day or something.  :)

Hylas, I know the feeling. Hey I was inspired to play around tonight. I finally remembered that DAZ gave us the morphs for older characters in Genesis. So I loaded the Genesis default male, converted him to Michael 4, and had him wearing a lot of different clothes. This is the silliest picture I've made in awhile. I used a "canned" smile expression. It looks like the smile actually affected his hat too!

JazzyBear, my memory is actually working recently! I remember you! Thanks for your support. I'm slowly working on a projected plan to target what I want the most. I got way behind a few years ago. I never did much with any of the Generation 4 people. Now we're up to Genesis 8! I haven't done much of anything with any of the Genesis generations. I want to have a variety of characters from different Generations. It's a challenge trying to find character sets, clothes, hair and poses for the older generations. Sometimes product prices for Michael 4 or Victoria 4 stuff still seems a bit high.

I'd like to get all or most of the Genesis 8 characters and clothes, etc. I often look for Pose and Expression sets first. I'm not really interested in the kids for now. I do like the increased amount of more mature characters like Mabel 8, Floyd 8, etc. We can even get "mature, and older" characters. I think Edward is younger than Floyd, for instance.

Victoria gets all the love. That is, except the really old V3 Version, which still has some very good looking items in the store. And I am fed up with Victoria 4 items sales, or Victoria 5 or 6 or 7, but the very old ones still have some interesting items, as have M4 and Kids4. So why not making a sale with these instead of repeting Victoria 4,5,6,7 over and over?  Besides the fact that some of these older items still look very good and can be used with wear-them-all on newer figures.

Before I write this I have to say I know (I know, I know, I know) that chicks sell better than men on Daz 3D. I get it, but I have to say that the men figures that are trickling out for genesis 8 are not that great (with the exception of a few - Fred Winkler Save Us!).  They look more like someone you'd meet at a high school reunion as compared to the beautiful women produced on an almost daily basis on Daz3d. It makes me wonder why they even produce men these days, if not just for now-crowd billboards and backgrounds, as the industry is so female-centric. I don't need to know the ins and outs of why, belive me, I know, but at least the Genesis 3 males had character, looks, class, definition, and variety. The only reason I have stayed with Genesis 3 for so long is beacause the male content on 8 is so poor...... 

Genesis 3 exists already for a longer time. Genesis 8's birthday is just one year ago. Michael 4 has a huge amount of stuff accumulated within 10 years. Everything needs a bit of time and G8 is really flexible.

To say there are no real men around is a bit risky. Anyway many of them hit my taste. Look for example at the latest release by FaberInc. Novak.
