Nope, just tried it. couldn't get any images that remotely looked like Ollie 8. Even clicking Angela 9, you still have to put in prompts to describe Angela 9. I have played with the DAZ AI app quit a bit and as it stands, there isn't much of a connection bewteen it and DAZ products or Daz Studio other than the listed figures, which is kind of pointless to me. I am trying to under the logic of DAZ creating an AI image generater instead of AI tools to enhace products and renders instead

You want suggestions ? Here it is. Instead of loading the duf files for every scene depending on the content, you can update a database when a new product is installed. That way loading times will be zero as far as morphs are concerned.

Which is essentially the ExP system used in Victoria and Michael 4, which caused a lot of confusion.

I needed a model of a curved sword, and not finding one in my content library, I did a little web search and found a Shamshir (AKA Persian Scimitar) for sale in the UK. Not needing a real one, or being able to afford the £500 being asked, I used that as inspiration for this model. The model is simple, with the only decoration being applied by means of normal maps, and the patterns on the blade are actually generated from characters in the SWMusic font.

Then, being a bit of a glutton for punishment I added wearable presets to permit it to be used in the Left or Right Hand with the following models:

• Victoria 3
• Victoria 4
• G3F
• G8F
• G8M
• G9 Feminine
• G9 Masculine

For A3, use the V3 wearable preset and adjust the sword position a little for her shorter arms. For G3M use the G3F preset and adjust the sword position a little for his longer arms.

[Sorry about the green splodges on V7's bottom. I realised after completing the promo image that, although the shop permits full frontal nudity, the forum authorities would be aghast at only seeing a thong covering V7's buttocks. So, to avoid anyone getting offended, I taxed my 2D abilities to their limit and splodged painted over the problematic areas. I freely admit I'm utterly hopeless at painting with a mouse.]

So, I hope you can find a use for it once in a while.

I seem to have 10 poses but the pack should have anther 20 where are they? LOL also I now need to figure out why when i apply a pose the dress wont follow it I need to read up i think

I saw Vicky 4 comeup very cheap and for the fun of it bought her https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-2-complete starter bundle, when i first started daz i accidently bought the maiden fair dress thining it would just work with genesis LOL anyway so thought maybe now i will use it.

It can’t be used to put Genesis 8 geometry shells over a Genesis 9 skin because the Material Suit is a culling conformer that removes all Genesis 9 geometry under it.

You have to put the Material Suit on and then the geoshell (same with LIE materials).

Because I don't understand the first bold part, the second bold italic part about putting the material suit on, then the geoshell, doesn't make much sense to me. Is it an explanation of why the product doesn't do whar I need, or is it giving me a workaround whereby the conversion isn't possible but I could still use the shells by applying the suite then putting them on top? Or is it completely unrelated?

TL;DR version: basically, you can't put G8 geoshell materials onto G9 characters without doing some sort of conversion, because the geometry and surfaces are different. The Material Suit allows you to put G8 character materials onto a G9 base, and THEN put the geoshells onto the Material Suit and THEN put the geoshell materials onto the geoshell. Since you seem to want to put the geoshells onto G9 characters, this probably doesn't do what you want. The Character Converter converts G8 shapes to G9 geometry, but does not convert materials.

Long Version:

The first bold part is both explaining why it doesn't do what you want the way you seem to want, and how to make it do something close to what you need with fewer steps (or at least not using Blender) ... up to a point. There's a bit of a process involved (though still less cumbersome than using Blender for this).

You would need to do the following:

1) Put the Material Suit on your G9 Character. This will make it possible to put G8 character materials -- but NOT the G8 geoshell materials -- onto the Material Suit that G9 is wearing. The suit is now parented to the character and at this point, as far as most materials are concerned, you're working with a sort of G8 character.

2) Put G8 materials on the Material Suit -- for example, Victoria 8's materials. G9 character materials, like Victoria 9's, will NOT work on the Material Suit. G8 Geoshell materials, as mentioned, probably will not work directly on the Material Suit itself, because they're configured to need a geoshell and that's not what the Material Suit is.

3) Once you have the G8 skin/texture materials on the Material Suit, to add a geoshell product to your character, select the Suit that is parented to the character, NOT the character itself.

4) Apply your G8 Geoshell preset. Depending on how it's made, it should pull both the geoshell and the desired materials into the workspace, parented to the Material Suit.

I've done this process, so I do know that it can work. That said, how well/if it works depends in part on how the geoshell product is made, and that can be variable. You won't know if it works until you try it.

"Culling conformer" essentially means, for government work, that it's hiding the G9 surfaces and geometry from Studio so that Studio kind of-sort of thinks it's a G8 character. This also means that if you were thinking to hide the Material Suit's surfaces and try to put the geoshell materials onto a G9 character, that won't work because the Material Suit has completely hidden the G9 surfaces and geometry from Studio. With the Material Suit on the character, there's nothing to put G9 materials onto.

Nope. That product converts ONLY the character shapes, not their materials. That's why the Material Suit exists. The materials will not work on G9 without either using Blender or some other process to convert them, or using the Material Suit.

It has nothing to do with G3's UVs on G2F...The surface of the geograft (I assume it's the G2F's genitalia) on the liquid geoshell needs to be manually assigned with the texture maps from Wet Skin surfaces...

You select the node: Liquid Geometry Shell in Scene pane under G2F figure, go to Surfaces pane, you'll see separate surface(s) of "geografts"... If it's a genitalia geograft, copy Hips surface onto it. If it's a tentacle geograft, copy Arm surface onto it... yada yada. Then make sure its UV Set is also set to "Victoria 5" which must be as same as the other wet skin surfaces...

Although I’ve not used them much since I bought them in 2022, there are two skin manager products in the store for which the store page states that each works on all of the figures from Victoria/Michael 4 through Genesis 9.  Both are by the same published artist and both are currently on sale.

They released Genesis 9 without releasing DS5. No reason to think that character generations are necessarily tied to Das Studio versions with integer numbering.

Version numbers are entirely a decision of a program's developer and publisher.  Daz Studio 5.0 could be released at any time.  Anything new, no matter how trivial or useless ("Daz Studio 5.0--Now with omnipresent promotional banners!") could be used to explain a new version.  Similarly, major developments could be in a new version still numbered DS 4.xx  We can be sure that the release of DS5 would replace forum commentary about how DS5 never seems to appear with complaints about how unsatisfying the changes are.  Then again, I could be surprised and DS5.0 solves every significant problem and eliminates numerous limitations in one fell swoop.  No way for us to know what to expect from uncommunicative (except for sales pitches) companies.

We don't know how many people Daz/Tafi has working on development or what their development priorities are.  Nor do we know how much of the available development resources are consumed by simply maintaining functionality within Windows or other operating systems, as well as keeping up with what nVidia has done with Iray. Obviously, bridges to other applications encourage sales of content for use in apps that Daz/Tafi didn't develop themselves. So, you may well see a bridge to Microsoft Excel (with Victoria 9, hair, dForce wardrobe, props,  background environment, and a composite image rendered in separate tiny rectangles, either as rows or columns) before Daz Studio 5.0.

Probably used the Node Weightmap Brush to adjust the influences of the bones so that the skirt moved with the hip, as it should.
