Headshop Oneclick Product
Has anyone already used this product? It's interesting for me but there were no final rendered images shown in the promos and I was wondering if the final render would still look realistic.
HeadShop OneClick (WIN) Download FailsHeadShop OneClick (WIN) Download Fails - I have both the latest 4.9.2.70 Release 64 Bit and the latest 4.9.3.128 Public Beta Release 64 Bit but I only get offered one version of HeadShop OneClick (WIN) to download and it doesn't mention 64 Bit or what version of DAZ Studio is is for.
Infinite Insanity - There's ALWAYS Another Sale! (Daily Sale Talk)Is the 30-day return guarantee valid for Headshop One-click?
Where did Headshop go?few questions is this version going to installed via dim and or connect or download from our bought product pages, if we have both the full version of daz 4.9 as well as the beta version out now do we have to do seperate installs for both programs and also do we have to manually create any folders or copy paste any files in specific areas like we did with headshop 9 - didn't get 10 so don't know how that went
OneClick is downloadable and comes with its own installer. There is no need to manually install anything, the installer installs everything as needed (separate installers for 32-bit and 64-bit). Caution: in all likelyhood OneClick will not work with beta versions of Studio, as betas have different naming conventions.
well that still works then all gotta do is create the head texture in the last full version and if using the daz beta all we gotta do is import the saved created texture via surfaces tab often done that created the face texture then in paintshop done any touchups wanted then reimported via surfaces
what can or can't be redistributedI was looking through the EULA's for various modelling software including Carrara and Hexagon as well as third party software like Zbrush, while it is always assumed you can create your own mesh and redustribute it, nothing is actually spelt out explicitly, and after reading this thread
I started to question what can and cannot be redistributed.
The Cornucopia plant software does explicitly outline restrictions on using generated tree mesh, Carrara does not.
One would assume trees dialed up using leaves created by PA's like Howie Farkes are indeed for render only as are the included tree examples but I always assumed dialing your own parameters from scratch using leaves you modelled in the vertex room and your own textures would be ok, likewise a Terrain you created your self with the map editor etc.
I do actually have the indi gaming license (got it on sale once) so that use in games at least safe but I was thinking more of set creation for say DAZ studio, iClone, Poser etc where obj export and creating a new product for free or sale.
Same would apply to Bryce.
Is it any different to using vertex tools or spline editing, its just a modelling tool but for tree generation, more to the point how do you know what you can do with any modelling software as very few actually say even Zbrush.
LAMH for what it is worth does explicitly say you can share your hairs likewise Headshop/Faceshop morphs as long as no DAZ mesh redustributed.
Whereas Garibaldi says you cannot and Facegen only with the pro edition.
To use two examples.
The grey areas worry me.
I have modelled shrubs, not trees using the Carrara tree generator as a starting point and modelled my own leaves and flowers from scratch, but heavily modified them after decimating to create shrubs I put on sharecg that actually are pretty far removed from any thing dialled up in Carrara, Xfrog is used by others in a similar way.
Only a handfull as rather unsure where I really stand in that regards.

considering been up 3 years, not terribly popular!!

but nonetheless I would like some definate answers.
Where did Headshop go?There's something I'm still not quite getting here.
In Headshop the shaping was imported as a custom morph. Thus one could just apply any compatible Daz texture.
Is that NOT possible with this new product? It seems you implied not, but I'd like a clear statement.
So, can I use a Daz texture with this new product or not? Your answer will determine if I buy.
No, you can still use DAZ textures and in most cases you will absolutely need to use DAZ textures because it's rare that a picture used to create one of these morphs is good enough and in high enough resolution to create a texture from. It will have things like shadows alway in the same place of the face no matter how your lighting is set up and so on. So yes, you can and probably should use DAZ textures.
When can I buy this product?
The author said it will be in the DAZ Store in December.
This is a link to the author's DAZ Store so check sometimes:

Will it work in version 4.8?

Importing a face into Genesis 3 from OBJ file?In order to use a mesh as a morph it has to match the mesh of the base figure, as far as the vertices that define it are concerned - that wouldn't be true of any shape you bought from Turbosquid. There are tools for creating morphs to match celebrities - FaceGen, though I'm not sure which figures are supproted, or the forthcoming Headshop 1-click for example.

Where did Headshop go?It sounds nice, but the max resolution of 1024 is half the size Headshop could do, and just one quarter of the modern Daz standard 4096. And it shows in your own promo picture, the freckles on that girl's face are blurry and barely visible. And from the looks of it has the same issue where the face is a completely different color from the rest of the skin on the head texture, as there is a very clear line on her forehead where the OneClick texture just stops. That makes it look like her face was just painted on.
Its great that it has simplicity, and I'm glad to see this improvement, but it is still not the "Holy Grail" until it can properly blend the face into the rest of the skin texture, and even better, create matching body textures. I have used photo editors for many years, and it is not that simple of a process to get other body textures to match the face and head and make them look good (not fake.) If OneClick is truly targeted at people who have little experience (as you once stated before,) it would be able to do this, because there is no way they can edit the textures on their own. Their hands will not match their face!
Where did Headshop go?I was under the impression that Headshop 10 had some advantages over one click, for example the texture size being 2048x2048 rather than 1024x1024, and also it gave you more control over the final result. If this is indeed the case, I am surprised it has been withdrawn, particularly when you consider it was only released a few months ago.
The reason why we introduced OneClick is that we were able to introduce a new technology that made such a dramatic difference that it justified a new product. This technology is the face feature auto-detection, which detects 86 separate points on a human face. This in turn enabled us to automate the whole 2D to 3D conversion process, something that in the past bedeviled half of our users, as they had to manually pick and move points (appearently it is difficult for about 50% of the people to do).
With the new technology there's no way that seomeone cannot get the right results right away and all the time. This has been the holly grail for the past 10 years (since we started to work in this field) and it is a great feeling that we finally achieved that at times we thought was impossible - a super-fast and fully automatic 2D to 3D conversion. It is built around the Genesis 2 Base figures but seem to work also for Genesis 3, which is very similar. It will not work well for already morphed figures such as derivatives of Genesis (Michael, Victoria, etc).
lol so why did you remove it from the store??

Where did Headshop go?ok sorry thought you said elsewhere it was more simplified easier to use as you removed some aspects with the dots as some had problems using those in the past and the other features you had hair, glasses, and the 3d print thing wasn't in one click making one click at least half the price headshop was?
He did! In the other thread he said that Oneclick is simpler and made for casual users whereas Headshop 10 had higher resolution output and more tools, so something is off here!
And does it output greater than 2048x2048; pointless if it doesn't.
I can't get excited until you answer this.....
The current version exports 1024x1024, because it aims of the casual user who in all likelyhood won't have a high-res to begin with. For hard-core users I recommend HeadShop 10.2, which does have 2048x2048 plus a lot more tools.

Where did Headshop go?the new version must be almost ready then though the new one - one click is a stripped down simplified version of headshop so unless there's also a more advanced version with the other functions headshop has/had you'd think hs10 would still be offered
FYI - OneClick is FAR MORE advanced than HeadShop 10. Completely new technology automate everything. You still can use same manual control, though.
Product is due soon.
Good news
